Sonya Love Sonya Love is a PhD student in the social research group of the Faculty of Land and Food Resources, University of Melbourne. Sonya also works within the Soils and Land Management team, a part of the Landscape Systems research platform of the Victorian Department of Primary Industries. Her thesis research on 'Catalysing Change in Catchment Communities: A case study in the Tarago Catchment' focuses on how scientific research informs understanding and implementation of 'better (watershed) catchment management'. The research project has involved participant observation of a range of activities occurring within the catchment (including management committee meetings, development and implementation of a nutrient management research project, and educational activities in the catchment) over a 2 year period, together with individual and group interviews with a variety of catchment stakeholders. A grounded theory approach to data analysis has been used.
