                              WORD PLAY

Make a list of action words (shake, bounce, jump, sleep) and write
each one on an index card. Have your child choose one from the deck
and read it silently, without letting anyone else see it. Then have him/her
act out the word: if it’s bounce, he bounces, and if it’s shake, he shakes.
It’s best to use lively action words, of course. You can also use the cards
for story telling. Place them facedown, then have your child pick three,
turn them over, and make up a story together using those three words. If
you like the story, you can write if down together and save it in a
“Favourite Stories” folder or album. (Rath, Linda K., Ed. D. and
Kennedy, Louise, The Between the Lions®: Book for Parents, 2004,
pp.105-106)
