							                     RRUUC Bazaar Donations Guide 2011 
Donate only "good" goods.  
    Please donate only good‐quality items that others would buy.   A “good” good is clean, intact, 
    attractive, without rips or stains, has all its parts, and works.  Electronic items must work.  If you 
    are unsure, please test it.  If you can't test it, please don't donate it.  Please put clothing on hangars, 
    if appropriate.   We will recycle any metal hangers you bring.   

Sort Donated Items by Bazaar sales area. 
    Before bringing your donations to RRUUC, group them according to the Bazaar sales areas (these 
    areas are listed below).  This saves time & effort and assures that donations get to the right place 
    from the beginning. 
     
Please ONLY Donate Large Furniture & other large heavy items if: 
        1. The Bazaar Chair approves the Donation BEFORE you bring it.  To reach the Bazaar Chair,  
           please send an e‐mail to bazaar@rruuc.org or call 301‐229‐0400;   
        2. Each item is Silent Auction or off‐site sale quality;  AND 
        3. Each  the item can be easily transported in a car or SUV. 
     
Bring your Bazaar Donations to RRUUC between Wednesday, Nov. 23rd          
& Wednesday, Nov. 30th ‐‐ See hours below.   
    River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation is at the corner of Whittier and River Road in 
    Bethesda (entrance on Whittier).   There will be an Intake Table in the foyer, just inside the main 
    entrance.  Signs in the foyer and an Intake Volunteer will show you where to take your goods.  
    Receipts for donations will be on the Intake Table.  Please send any questions by e‐mail to 
    bazaar@rruuc.org or call 301‐229‐0400. 
 
Please don't bring:  computers, hazardous materials, house paints, tires, mattresses 
or any of the items listed in What Not to Donate list on the back of this sheet.  

    Please consider bringing fine quality items for the Silent Auction.

Nov. 23 ‐ 26 (closed Thanksgiving) from Noon to 5 PM for donating:

Nov. 27:  9 AM to 6 PM & Nov. 28 ‐ 30: 10 AM to 8 PM 
    Art (framed & unframed) ‐‐ Baby Equipment ‐‐ Sporting Goods ‐‐‐White Elephant 
    (housewares, china, glassware, appliances, knickknacks, vases, garden equipment, 
    tools, crafts, office supplies, luggage, etc.)

All Areas              Hazardous materials, house paint, tires, mattresses, shabby or

Books & Music          Textbooks, Law Books, Magazines,  8 track tapes, vinyl LPs 
Clothing               Collar or armpit stained shirts, torn, stained or shabby clothing,  
                       Women’s shoes (unless nearly new) 
Electronics            Computers & computer monitors,  non‐working appliances,  Analog 
                       TVs, non‐working electronic devices  
Household Linens       Custom Draperies, Wedge & personal pillows, shabby linens, crib 
                       bumper pads, infant sleep positioners 
Toys & Kid’s Stuff     SHABBY or JUMBO stuffed animals, puzzles or games in ripped or 
                       torn boxes that are beyond repair, puzzles or games with missing 
                       pieces, battery operated toys (unless batteries included) 
Baby Gear &            Drop‐down side rail cribs, car seats, shabby strollers, accordion 
Furniture              gates, bumper pads, infant positioners 
White Elephants        Skis, Large Furniture (see below), treadmills, large exercise machines, 
Sporting Goods         items heavier than 75 pounds, Water Bottles, Plastic Mugs, Logo 
                       items (such as coffee mugs), 3‐ring Binders, canning jars
