OLIVE ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT
Olive Catering Services is an independent contract catering company based in the Midlands. We
provide a wide variety of high quality, tailored contract catering solutions to businesses, independent
schools and further education colleges with a particular focus on fresh food. At Olive, the whole team
embraces our mission statement: 'To be the Independent Contract Caterer of Choice' and we strive to
meet this challenge for our clients, for our team members and for our suppliers.
Our four core values provide the structure to achieve the mission statement and our environmental
Food – great food starts with quality, fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients from
environmentally sustainable sources.
People – we act to fulfil and exceed our clients’ expectations whilst ensuring we act responsibly with
respect to the environment.
Finance – Our dedicated purchasing team is focussed on sourcing the finest ingredients at the best
possible price through a purchasing strategy based around local, seasonal, sustainable sources. We
monitor our environmental impact in line with good accounting practices.
Communications – We believe in timely, effective communication. New initiatives and exciting ideas
on sustainability and efficiency will be positively promoted to our customers. We hold regular meetings
and briefings with the catering team as everybody needs to understand the business goals that will
only be achieved with the full support of the team.
We are committed to the prevention of pollution, to use resources efficiently and to limit the impact of
our operations upon others. Olive shall comply with legal requirements and other requirements
applicable to our activities. We will work with clients to ensure that the catering facilities within their
establishments achieve the above commitments.
We will provide resources essential to meeting the above commitments. Resources include human
resources and specialised skills, equipment, technology and financial resources.
We will communicate this policy to all employees, clients and suppliers, and other interested parties.
This policy shall be made available on all site’s notice-boards, through the Olive website, to the public
on request and other suitable means.
We will monitor and regularly review the management system in order to establish objectives to deliver
the above commitment and identify continual improvement.
We shall review this policy annually and reissue it every three years.
