General

EASY TRAXX Pocket GPS is the SUPER small and versatile, easy-to-use pocket GPS,
which allows you to intuitively record waypoints, find GOOGLE MAP™ target points, easily
return to your starting point/route, measure speed and much more.

The set consists of the EASY TRAXX Pocket GPS, a silicone case for use while running, a
bicycle bracket, GOOGLE MAP™ -compatible software and USB cable.

An overview of the most important functions:

•Tracking the route
     You can use this to automatically record the route followed on the device. Using the
     navigation function, you can return via this same route.
     Archive the route on your PC, visualise the route with GOOGLE MAPS™ and share it
     with friends.
•NAVIGATION (route or target point)
     With this you can return to your starting point/route (e.g. with TRACKING recorded trip,
     with POI set with BEACON).
     Or plan a trip/destination with the included software in GOOGLE MAP™ and use your
     EASY TRAXX Pocket GPS to navigate to them.
•GPS pedometer (distance measurement) with calorie consumption indicator
•GPS speedometer (speed + route)
•Digital compass
•Stop watch
•Time display/watch
•Can switch between km and miles
•Rechargeable battery (up to 22 hours)
•GOOGLE-MAP™ -compatible software (in English)


Activating the K&R EASY TRAXX Pocket GPS

Remark: For installation and application of PC software, refer to the chapter on “ software”

(Charging the battery
Prior to first use, you must charge this Pocket GPS for about 3 hours.
To do this, open the protective rubber cover on the back of the EASY TRAXX and connect it

to your PC or a universal USB charging cable.
The charging operation is shown in the top left of the display of the EASY TRAXX (battery
icon).

Using the protective slipcover
The slipcover is intended for use during running or hiking. Insert the device from the front into
the protective slipcover. Make sure that the device is fully inserted into the protective
slipcover.
This way you can attach the EASY TRAXX in the protective slipcover with the carabiner clip
to a belt loop for example and always have it handy.

Using the bicycle bracket
The bicycle bracket can be attached to the handlebar of the bicycle with the supplied cable
ties. You can simply slide in your EASY TRAXX. But remember to remove it when you’     re

To turn on of the EASY TRAXX, press the [POWER/LIGHT] button for about 3 seconds

This function appears shortly after switch-on.
The time is displayed and you can begin or end the
recording of the route by pressing the
[START/STOP] button.

You can begin, pause or end a recording by pressing
the [START/STOP] button.
If “ appears at the top right of the display, a recording and display of the values take place,

You navigate to the next menu item by pressing the [MODE] button.




Speed and distance display (GPS Pedometer)

From the main menu, press the [MODE] button once
to navigate to the speed display:

You can begin, pause or end a recording by pressing

Average values

From the main menu, press the [MODE] button twice
to have the average values of a tour displayed:

The following values are displayed:

         Ave SPD = average speed
         Average speed since the start of the recording.
         Max SPD = maximum speed
         Maximum speed since the start of the recording.
         VAR-Alti = differences in altitude
         Differences in altitude since the start of the recording.
         ODO = odometer
         Distance travelled.
         Co²
         Saved CO² value - your environmental contribution to emission reduction.
         SYMBOL
         Symbolises your environmental contribution (here 8 tress + 80%).

Differences in altitude

From the main menu, press the [MODE] button three times
and you will navigate to the differences in altitude display.

The difference in altitude (current starting altitude) is shown
in metres in the top part of the display.

The variance in altitude (differences in altitude) is displayed in chronological sequence in the
bottom part. You can shift this graphic with the [START/STOP] and [SET] buttons on the
timeline to have the past values displayed.
This display only functions while a route is being recorded.

POI and navigation functions

From the main menu, press the [MODE] button four times
to navigate to the POI (point of interest)
and navigation menu. Here you can set POIs (place of interest),
tracking functions, such as “Back Track”= return,
and retrieve routes planned on the PC.

Following is a description of the based on a
number of current examples:



You are in an unfamiliar region and want to return
to the starting point of your tour in the evening?


This is where the BACK TRACK function comes to your assistance

At the start of your tour, press the
[START/..] button in the main menu
to record the route.

Press the [../STOP] button for 3 seconds
to stop the recording when you have reached your destination. This is signalled by “ .

If you want to be return the same way, press the [MODE] button in the POI & Navigation
menu for a few seconds, select “  Back Track” with the [SET] button and confirm with

[MODE]. Now you can select the route (the last one, sorted by date and time) to the starting
point with [SET] and confirm with [MODE].
For the navigation direction please select “Backward” with [SET] and confirm by pressing
[MODE].

The small arrow shows the direction in which you will reach
the starting point using the same route.

You can also select other functions with [SET]:

POI”for setting a marker (Point of Interest)

JUMP”for skipping waypoints

CANCEL”for destination reached

You select menu points with [SET] and confirm it with [MODE].

You want to find your way back again to important positions e.g. starting point,
camp 1, camp 2, destination?

This is where the “POI”function comes in handy to set POIs on your route.

(You draw up the route, but mark important positions!)

At the start of your tour, press the

However, you want to mark one important point on
this route, because you have left a car there for example. Select the POI & navigation menu
with the [MODE] button and press [SET], select “   POI”to set a marker. Confirm this with
[MODE]. In the next step you can select another symbol for this POI.
Press [SET] followed by [Mode].

This you can repeat as often as you like, whereby the
direction and distance in km are displayed at the last marker.

When reaching your destination you can now select whether you
want to return the same way (see preceding
chapter) or whether you want go to other
important POIs.

Press the [MODE] button in the POI & navigation menu for a few seconds, select the menu
item “ POI”with the [SET] button and confirm with [MODE].
Now you can select a POI (you have set these markers identified with symbols during your
tour) with [SET] and confirm with [MODE].
These POIs are sorted according to date and time and can
later be viewed/managed on PC.

The small arrow shows the direction in which you will reach
this POI and displays the distance to this position.




You have planned a route on PC and now want to hike along it.

Press the [MODE] button in the POI & navigation menu for a few seconds, select the menu

item “Route Plan”with the [SET] button and confirm with [MODE].
Now you can select the last point of your planned route with [SET] and confirm with [MODE].
Then you have the option to select between
“ Direct” to be guided directly to your destination
or
“Sequence”to be guided to your destination as planned
on PC with all points in between (stopover destinations or
waypoints).

The direction of the hike is shown by the little arrow;
below it is the distance to this point.

When a waypoint is reached, the next is automatically
shown, until you have reached your destination.

Information - adjustment - calibration

Press and hold the [MODE] button for a few seconds,
until the submenu with the selection point “Information”
is displayed. Select this with [SET] and confirm
with [MODE].



You can navigate as follows in these menus:

                   The PC software for the Easy Traxx
Installation

                                                                              K&R EASY
To install the Easy Traxx PC software and the necessary drivers, run the file “
TRAXX setup.exe”by double clicking it. The following window then guides you, as is usual
with any program, through the installation.

 For a default installation, press “NEXT”or “ INSTALL”in every respective window that opens
to get to the next step. Depending on your system, it is possible that the driver from Silicon
Labs is installed so that this software can communicate with the Easy Traxx.

When you use it for the first time, the user languages is requested, which you must select

“EXTRAS” settings

In “Power Management” you can set the auto
shutoff time of display backlight or set the
automatic shutdown of the unit. To achieve the
longest possible battery life, these times are set
as short as possible. You can also set the time
(time zone) and measurement unit (m, km, feet,
mile) according to your needs.
The “  turning radius” allows you to optimise the
notification of a change of course during
navigation. At a high value the imminent change
of course is indicated earlier, at a low value you
stay on the route more accurately.
After successful modification, please press “  Set”
to transfer these parameters to the “         Easy
TRAXX”    .

Function selection – “POI” tab

This function allows you to view and manage the POIs (Point of Interest) set by you.

For this purpose, connect EASY TRAXX to the PC and click on              ; the data from the
Easy TRAXX is now uploaded to the PC.




In the left window, with the coordinates, you can now see all your recorded “   POIs”.
When you click on a row in this table, this POI will be displayed on the right in Google
Maps™ . You also see the date and time of the recording.

In addition, with      you can delete the POI.
Caution, with       you delete all POIs in this table.
You can also save these POIs for later use with          on your PC, or load previously saved
POIs again with       , to download it with       to your Easy TRAXX.

Function selection – “TRACK”tab

With this function you can view, manage and save the route recorded by you, or share it with
friends.

For this purpose, connect EASY TRAXX to the PC and click on             ; the data from the Easy
TRAXX is now transferred to the PC.




After downloading your route (or several routes), you can easily view or save these.


When you double-click a route in the table, you can adjust the colour of the route in
the window that opens, so the view becomes clearer.


You can display / hide routes with           . Then press        to update the view.

You can also delete the marked routes with           .
Caution, with       you delete all the routes in this table.
You can also save these routes for later use with          on your PC, or load previously saved
routes again with      again.

With       ,        and         you can save these routes also in another file format.

Function selection – “Route plan” tab

You can use this function to plan routes on your PC, irrespective in which view of the Google
window you are.
Find your starting point using the search function                     and create the perfect
image section with the zoom function. You can enlarge, reduce or shift the section at any
time during your planning.




Move the mouse to the starting point and double-click on it. This way the first marker has
been set, which is displayed by ...    . You can shift this marker by clicking & holding with the
mouse or you can rename it in the table by double-clicking.
You can also enter the coordinates directly by clicking on       and entering the name and
coordinates of the waypoint in the opening window.


Search for the next position and mark this the same way, following the same procedure, until
you have reached your destination (max. 50 markers).
You can now retrieve the distances between the points and the total distance (in the status
bar at the bottom) from the table.

You download your final tour with       to your Easy TRAXX.


You can also delete the marked waypoints with          .
Caution, with     you delete all the routes in this table.


You can also save these waypoints for later use with         on your PC, or load previously
saved POIs again with         again.
