Call to Artists

                               “BY HAND”
       Holiday and Hostess Gifts & Objects Fair

ABOUT:        “By Hand” is a hand crafted, juried Holiday and Hostess gifts &
              objects fair held at Whitespace, the contemporary art and exhibition
              space of Dr. Marvin & Elayne Mordes. www.whitespacecollection.com.

                     Elayne & Marvin Mordes, owners and directors of Whitespace
                     Jane Manus – sculptor
                     Kristin Miller Hopkins – artist & educator
                     Emily Seipel – Whitespace assistant curator

DATE/TIME: Friday, December 14, 2012  5-10PM
           Saturday, December 15,2012 11- 5PM
           Sunday December 16, 2012   11–5PM

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
   ● All entries must be original and hand-made, with a suggested maxiumum retail
     price of $400 for each item.
   ● All entries will be juried from 2 actual samples brought to Whitespace on one of
     the 3 open call days. Sat. Aug 11, Sat. Sept 15 or Sat. Oct 6. all 10 – 2 PM
     NO APPOINTMENT IS REQUIRED.
   ● An application fee of $15 is required for each 2 items with a signed Application
     Form. Singing denotes your acceptance of all terms and requirements for this
     event. NO APPLICATION FEES ARE RETURNABLE.
   ● Multiple mediums are allowed with an additional fee of $10 for each additional 2
     items by the same artist.
   ● We will also accept items sent by post arriving no later than Oct 2, 2012 with a
     signed and paid form. Prepaid return labels are required for return of items.
   ● Accepted applicants will be notified of acceptance no later than Oct. 15, 2012.
***SPECIAL SELECTION:
    4 artists will be selected on the Friday opening evening to exhibit with
      Whitespace at ART PALM BEACH – Jan. 22- Jan. 29, 2013. Artists will be
      advertised on Whitespace website and mailings . Details of this will be
      presented to the selected artists.

EVENT REQUIREMENTS:
    Artists are required to participate and attend all days.
   ● Event to take place outside rain or shine. Be prepared for unexpected weather.
   ● All artist tables must be set up 1/2 hour before each day and taken down along
      with all merchandise at the closing of each day. Each vendor is responsible for
      delivery and removal of all items including set up and display materials. There
      will be a guard each night for set-ups only.
   ● Whitespace will not be responsible for any theft, damage or mysterious
      disappearance of any items, displays, set ups or supplies.
   ● Each artist must supply their own display table with a black table cloth to the
      ground and any side walls or tents (weights must be used, no stakes are allowed
      expect on grass areas.
   ● Artist will supply own lighting and power cords (long heavy duty cords will be
      necessary) if applicable.
   ● Each artist must accept payment directly – no commission is due to Whitespace.
   ● No free food or beverage will be supplied by Whitespace – however drinks and
      snacks will be available on site for purchase.
   ● Each vendor is responsible for any taxes applied or due to Palm Beach County or
      State of Florida for any sales or costs.
   ● Total cost to sell at the entire 3 day event is $200 for a table up to 42 x 42
      inches, $275 for a table up to 42 x 72 inches. $350 for a table, tent or booth up
      to 9 feet (108 inches) square.( weights required)
