floral material. Ask the students their opinion on the materials.

    Discussion

preserved/permanent flowers. Explain why different materials are
           necessary for constructing each type.

    2. Discuss why it is important to have an understanding of the
importance of good mechanics for floral design.

    3. Use reference materials to study and identify tools and
equipment used for arranging artificial flowers.

    4. Use reference materials to locate the steps in constructing a
           basket arrangement of permanent flowers.

    5. Follow steps in constructing a basket arrangement of permanent
flowers, to demonstrate skills to students.

    6. Students will follow the same procedure and construct a basket
           arrangement of permanent flowers.

    7. Students will practice the procedure daily as long as time
           permits.

    8. Evaluate each arrangement completely before the class while
using student input along with teachers.

    9. Use reference materials to locate the steps in constructing a
           contemporary arrangement.
