Presenting a Visual Argument:
Read pages 418 to 437 in our textbook. Using print periodicals as well as the internet,
locate an image that you believe makes an argument about the modern family – or at least
depicts it. Some examples follow. You should “read” the visual, analyzing the elements
(players, colors, arrangement, etc) and explaining how they get an argument across. For
your class presentation on November 9, you should project the image large enough for
everyone to see it easily as you talk and invite questions for 4-5 minutes total.
