The following is a standard recruiting checklist that can be customized to meet the process and
requirements of your company.



MANAGER’S RESPONSIBILITIES

    Have requisition approved.
    Prepare or revise job description.
    Provide requisition and job description to HR.
    Determine applicant sources.
    Post job on designated resources.
    Review candidate resumes and applications.
    Prepare list of qualified candidates for telephone screen.
    Evaluate telephone screen candidates eligible for First interview.
    Conduct First round of Interviews.
    Evaluate First interview candidates eligible for Second interview.
    Conduct Second round of Interviews.
    Determine most qualified, final candidates.
    Complete background/reference checks .
   (NOTE: If your company conducts background checks utilizing an Employee Screening Service, work
   with HR to determine the required forms and disclosure notices.)
    Extend verbal and/or written offer to the most qualified candidate.
    Notify unsuccessful applicants.
    Notify HR of new hire and provide new hire’s details via the Personnel Action Form.
