ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY We are looking to hire a federal business development manager who will focus on creating, implementing and managing the business development strategy of the company, with a focus on the federal government market. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all business development activities, from lead generation through close of potential deals. The candidate must also be able to develop and implement the agreed upon business development and marketing plan, which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding customer base. The federal government business development manager must work for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values. The Leading Niche is a small and emerging company so the ideal candidate must be able to work in a flexible, dynamic environment and must be able to think creatively to build the federal government business development. The position is a temporary to permanent (temp to perm) full-time position. The base salary is $35,000 with an annual bonus. There are no other benefits offered at this time. However, as the company grows, this candidate will be able to participate in benefits as we add them to our portfolio. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge of all the products and services that the company sells. Develop a federal business development strategy. Demonstrates an ability to identify improvements to the Firm’s current products and services and any new products and services that might need to be added to the portfolio, based on client and industry needs. Develops annual business plan in conjunction with the President & CEO, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus on meeting or exceeding business development goals. Complete understanding of pricing and proposal models. Demonstrates the ability to carry on a business conversation with clients and company decision makers. Maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing a sale. Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients of the various solutions the company offers to their business issues. Develops a database of qualified leads through different sourcing methods including, but not limited to, referrals, telephone canvassing, face-to-face meetings, networking, etc. Assists in the implementation of company marketing and business plans as needed. Creates and conducts effective proposal presentations and RFP responses to secure customers and awards/contracts. Responsible for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals. Maintains accurate records of all business development and prospecting activities including business development calls, presentations, closed opportunities, and follow-up activities. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented in all work tasks. Meet with the President & CEO as often as needed.
