RESPONSIBILITIES:
As UP graduates are highly sought after by top companies, the Graduate Placement Office is
responsible for ensuring that our top students gain maximum exposure to the graduate
recruiting market through the following:
A support service to students to enhance their marketability and make job opportunities
easily accessible to them through various projects.
The management of an information centre with regard to career information for students.
Service to employers to enhance maximum exposure to graduate opportunities for
students which includes various on-campus projects/events, networking and public
speaking.
The marketing of the Career Placement’s activities to students
The placement of students in student work opportunities at UP
The management of information and job opportunities for all students
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the field of Human Resources or Industrial
Psychology;
3 years experience in workplace recruitment processes and practices
3 years experience in liaison with or experience as graduate recruiter;
2 years experience in presenting graduate recruitment programs/workshops;
1 year experience in using Web driven recruiting systems;
Experience in budgeting and basic accounting;
Experience in organising Career Expos or similar recruitment events;
Fully computer literate in Windows, E mail, electronic diaries, internet;
Advanced proficiency in both MicroSoft Word and Excel;
Proficient in English at a level of publishing brochures and newsletters;
Proven ability to innovate, design and establish new initiatives;
Proven ability to communicate at advanced level;
Availability to work overtime when required;
Own reliable transport;
Excellent client service orientation.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Honours degree in HR or Industrial Psychology;
Business Management Courses as part of degree training;
Financial Management Courses as part of degree training;
Registered Psychometrist at the HPCSA;
Prioritising and Planning;
Project management experience;
Team Leader;
Administrative orientation;
Knowledge of labour requirements and best practices.
The total remuneration package for this position ranges from approximately R286 811 to R353 965
(excluding medical aid benefits) as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the
BESTMED medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.

PLIGTE:
Aangesien UP graduandi gesog is onder top maatskappye is die Graduandi
Loopbaankantoor verantwoordelik om deur middel van die onderstaande doelwitte toe te
sien dat topstudente die maksimum blootstelling kry tot die loopbane mark :
’n Ondersteuningsdiens om studente se bemarkbaarheid en werksgeleenthede te
verbeter deur middel van verskeie projekte.
Die bestuur van ‘n loopbane inligtingsentrum.
Voortreflike diens aan werkgewers om die blootstelling van studente aan graduandi
werksgeleenthede te verbeter. Dit sluit in bestuur van projekte en funksies op kampus,
skakeling en optree as spreker by toepaslike geleenthede.
Bemarking van die Graduandi Loopbaankantoor se aktiwiteite en dienste.
Die plasing van studente in studentewerksgeleenthede by die Universiteit van Pretoria.
Die bestuur van inligting en werksgeleenthede vir alle studente.
MINIMUM VEREISTES:
Relevante Baccalaureusgraad, verkieslik in die veld van menslike Hulpbronbestuur of
bedryfsielkunde.
3 jaar ervaring in indiensnemings werwingsprosesse en beleid;
3 jaar ervaring in skakeling met of gewerk as graduandi werwers;
2 jaar ervaring in die aanbieding van studente loopbane programme/werkswinkels;
1 jaar ervaring in die gebruik van webgedrewe werwingstelsels;
Ervaring in begrotingsbestuur en basiese rekeningkunde;
Ervaring in die organisering van Loopbaan Expo’s of soortgelyke werwingsfunksies;
Ten volle rekenaargeletterd (Windows, Epos, elektroniese dagboeke, internet);
Gevorderde rekenaargeletterdheid in Microsoft Word & Excel;
Vaardig in Engels op die vlak van die druk en uitgee van brosjures en nuusbriewe;
Bewese vermoë om te innoveer en uitvoering te gee aan nuwe inisiatiewe;
Bewese kommunikasievaardighede op ’n gevorderde vlak;
Beskikbaarheid om soms oortyd te werk;
Eie betroubare vervoer;
Uitnemende kliëntgeoriënteerdheid.
AANBEVELINGS:
Honneurs graad in Menslike Hulpbronbestuur of Bedryfsielkunde;
Besigheidsbestuur kursus as deel van graadopleiding;
Finansiëlebestuur kursus as deel van graadopleiding;
Geregistreerde Psigometris by die Raad vir Gesondheidsberoepe van Suid-Afrika;
Prioretisering en beplanning;
Projekbestuur ervaring;
Spanleier;
Administratiewe vernuf;
Kundig oor arbeidswet en vereistes.
Volgens UP-beleid en -riglyne wissel die jaarlikse vergoedingspakket vir hierdie pos tussen ongeveer
R286 811 tot R353 965 (mediese fondsbydrae uitgesluit). UP onderskryf die BESTMED mediese
skema en dra 50% van die toepaslike maandelikse paaiement by.
