WELCOME LETTER TO PARENTS FROM CO-CHAIRS
June 1, 2000
As Co-Chairs of the Emory Parent Council, let us congratulate you on your child’s acceptance to
Emory University! As parents of two Emory students, we certainly understand that this is an
exciting and challenging time for the entire family, so on behalf of the Emory Parent Program,
we want you to know how delighted we are that you and your child have chosen Emory.
Emory truly feels that parents are as much a part of the community as students, alumni, staff, and
faculty. For this reason, all parents of undergraduate students have full access to the Emory
Parent Program, a department that focuses on ensuring that parents feel connected to the
University. You are invited and encouraged to become involved in the Emory community both
on campus and around the world, through participation in such activities as regional programs,
career networking, and the Emory Scholar Athlete Association. All parents receive a copy of the
Emory Family, a bi-annual newsletter created specifically for parents of undergraduates.
Families are also invited to join us for Emory Family Weekend, held every fall. This year’s
festivities take place November 3 – 5, 2000. Brochures will be mailed to you at the end of
August. You may, however, want to go ahead and review the agenda for this exciting event on
the web at www.alumni.emory.edu/parentprogram.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Parent Program at 404/727-4880 or
firstname.lastname@example.org. Again, congratulations on your child’s acceptance to Emory and we look
forward to seeing you on campus in the fall.
