The Town of Granby Connecticut is seeking individuals interested in pursuing a
career in Criminal Justice. The Department of Police Services is currently seeking
applications for the position of Police Officer. Successful candidates will assume
patrol duties to include: crime prevention, criminal investigation, motor vehicle
crash investigation, and responding to medical emergencies.
Applicants must either be certified, or be capable of obtaining certification, as a
police officer from the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council.
The POSTC qualification requirements can be found at www.ct.gov/post. All
non-certified applicants must have a valid C.H.I.P. card prior to taking the written
examination, for further information on the C.H.I.P. card process, please go to
Minimum education requirements are either a high school diploma or G.E.D.,
though some post secondary education is preferred and encouraged; candidates must
possess a valid motor vehicle operator license; and be non-smokers. Starting salary
is $54,223.52 with a generous benefit package.
