NOTICE OF APPROVAL OF TRADE ADJUSTMENT ASSISTANCE
The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development will be accepting applications for Trade
Adjustment Assistance (TAA) benefits for La-Z-Boy MFG., INC., all workers producing Upholstered
Furniture located in Dayton, Tennessee. Affected workers include those who were identified by the Office
of Trade Adjustment Assistance (OTAA) as having been affected by foreign competition. Workers may be
entitled to benefits, retraining, and reemployment services.
The U.S. Department of Labor has approved TAA petition TAW# 070152A, for benefits with an impact date of
May 18, 2008, a certification date of July 28, 2009, and an expiration date of July 28, 2011. Former employees
have been instructed by the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development to report by
appointment to the Tennessee Career Center located at 200 4th Ave, Dayton, TN 37321 on November 3, 2009,
between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Eastern Standard Time (EST); November 4, 2009, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00
p.m., (EST); November 5, 2009, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., (EST); and November 6, 2009, between 8:30
a.m. and 11:00 a.m., (EST). Any worker who has not been contacted by November 16, 2009, should telephone
615-253-0866 or toll free at 1-877-813-0950, extension 1866, TTY/PC 1-800-848-0298 or Voice/TDD 1-800-
848-0299 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. CST. The worker is responsible for filing the Trade Adjustment
Assistance application timely. Federal regulations provide “no just cause” for filing late.
