Year 4 Newsletter
Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy new year to you all. We are now at the beginning of the Spring Term which is a good time to
update you on some of the things we have planned!
Just a reminder! All children must bring in footwear to wear indoors. It is now getting
very muddy outside and outdoor shoes are not allowed indoors. Could you please
make sure that any jewellery worn in school does not dangle. For health and safety
regulations, could you remember that it must be removed before a PE lesson.
Please make sure that PE kits are in school on a Monday and stay in school all
week as we will sometimes have to change our day due to the weather! Also Year 4
will be swimming on a Thursday morning this term, please ensure your child has a one piece
swimming costume and a swimming hat.
At Market Harborough C of E School we have high standards of behaviour. We would
like to thank you for your help supporting us in this area. We believe working closely
with you is essential to maintaining these high standards and expectations.
We will be continuing with the same arrangements as last term for the weekly
spelling test. However we will also be concentrating on learning times tables as pat
of our layered target work: please help your child to practise them. We will also be
sending home the maths game packs. please listen to your child read as much as
possible during the week and have a go at some of the activities in the new reading
record.
Year 3 and 4 children will be performing in the school production at the end of this
term. We are in the initial stages of planning and know that the children will gain a lot
from this rewarding experience. Obviously nearer the time we will be sending
information about it and probably making a plea for help with costumes too!
Don’t forget that most of our Year 4 children will be setting off to Beaumanor Hall for our residential
visit early in the summer term, lots of letters and details will be sent to you nearer the time. Please
remember that the first payment is due on Friday 27th January, however you can make payments at
any time and they will be recorded on your green payment card, thank you.
