It must not be given or lent to anyone else. It remains the property of the University and must be returned to the University when requested. This card is issued on request to alumni of the University of Southampton Alumni for the purposes of identification. Please carry it at all times when making use of University facilities and be prepared to show it to University staff when requested. Your card will be valid for a period of up to five years after which time it must be renewed if you wish to continue to enjoy alumni benefits. You are personally responsible for its safety. If the card is lost or stolen you must inform the Alumni Relations Office immediately. Your card is issued free of charge but you may be required to pay the cost for replacement of lost or stolen cards. Membership of the library only lasts for 12 months, after this time you must update your address with the library for your membership to be renewed. The bar code on this card can be scanned by the Library but you must also be registered with the Hartley Library before you can use the loans services elsewhere. The rights and privileges of alumni to use the Library are described by the Library Regulations in the University Calendar. The regulations are expanded in Schedules available from the Library. As an alumnus you are entitled to use the Staff Social Centre on an occasional basis. You may be required to show your Alumni Smart ID card. If you wish to use the Staff Club on a regular basis, you can apply for full membership through the Staff Club. If you register on a course at the University during the lifetime of this card, please return the card to the Alumni Relations Office immediately. Breaches of these Conditions of Use may lead to the card being withdrawn. The personal data carried on this card are - name, title, image (picture) and library number. The library number is also printed as a bar code. A site identification and a card sequence number are encoded magnetically. All the personal data carried on this card has been registered with the Data Protection Registry.
