CIBSE CARBON NETWORK

A new section of the CIBSE website has been created which aims to provide general information
relating to carbon issues and where both members and non-members can share knowledge and views
through an online discussion forum. Current topics on the forum include CHP and the
implementation of the European Energy Directive. We are also keen to build up a dedicated email
list of people interested in this topic. If you would to be added to this please email your contact
details to Richard Howard email mailto:rhoward@cibse.org The Carbon Network section of the
CIBSE website can be accessed from http://www.cibse.org/carbon

LINKS WITH SCHOOLS

The Institution would like to build up a list of members involved in schools activities as a first stage
of assessing how successful this is as a route to reach school children with information about
building services engineering. We will therefore be very pleased if those members involved with
such schemes can kindly e-mail Jonathan David at CIBSE mailto:jdavid@cibse.org with your name,
membership number, the scheme you are involved in, the area of the country you cover and any
comments on the scheme itself.

CIBSE COMMISSIONING MANAGEMENT CODE

As part of the review of the CIBSE Commissioning Codes the Institution has obtained funding from
the DTI Partners in Innovation Scheme to develop a Commissioning Management Code, which will
be known as Code M. A working group has been developing the Code, and a Consultation Draft will
shortly be available on the Research section of the CIBSE website. Alternatively, to request a copy,
please email hdavies@cibse.org with a message titled "Consultation Draft M", and a copy will be
sent to you by email as soon as it is available.

CPD RANDOM SAMPLING

CIBSE has recently carried out random CPD samplings and received a very good response.
However, CIBSE respectfully requests that members who have been randomly selected and have not
yet responded please do so as soon as possible to owilliams@cibse.org Preparations are in hand for
the new Directory of CPD Course Providers. It is anticipated that the first edition will be launched
end February/early March, and the Directory will then be updated on an on-going basis.
