Transition Plans in July
We have decided to trial something new this year, on Monday 16th, Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th July, all pupils
will move into their new classrooms and have three days transition before the summer holidays, during these days
Teachers will be able to introduce classroom expectations, organisation and really get to know their new class. We
hope to welcome both Hannah and Kathryn to school for some of these transition days too. The principal aim is to
use this time to build positive relationships between pupils and their Teacher/Teaching Assistant before the six week
holidays! We will be asking for feedback from parents about this idea in September. Our current Year 6 pupils will
be undertaking an ICT project for these three days.

The feedback with regard to our new report format and publication of reports for pupils in February was very
positive. All parents will receive a Summer Attainment Profile on Friday 13th July 2012. This profile will contain an
updated version of the information found on their mid-year report in February and will show revised teacher
assessment levels, indicating their current performance in Math’s, English and Science as well as scores from tests if
appropriate. Teachers will also comment on how progress against targets set in February too, so parents will be
fully informed of progress made. We really hope that parents will find this profile really useful and as always parents
will be welcomed to have a chat with their child’s class teacher after the publication of this profile. If you would like
to see a preview of the format, please log onto our school website and have a look –
