					                    Family and Parenting Lesson Plans
                          February 6 – 24, 2012

Please look at the section entitled Family and Parenting Standards and
competencies to see the full content of the standard and competency to
be studied.

Monday, February 6 (Standard 1): The students will watch the next
“Who Do You Think You Are” video to continue to prepare for their
Family/History Scrapbook. The students will take notes on the show as they
watch (assessment daily grade).

Tuesday , February 7, (Standard 2.4 and 3.4): Announce Unit 2 & 3 test
on Wednesday (February 22). The students will identify the qualities that
help build healthy relationships, explain how rewards and costs affect
relationships, and suggest ways to improve relationships. Textbook –
Chapter 5. The students will use the Glencoe website and the airliner
slate (technology) to introduce unit vocabulary terms and as a chapter
review.
Wednesday, February 8 (Standard 2.4 and 3.4):             The students will
construct a pamphlet to identify warning signs in a dangerous relationship to
reinforce their study of Chapter 5 “Relationships.” (assessment daily
grade.)

Thursday, February 9 (Standard 1):             The students will work in class
in their pre-assigned groups to work on their FCCLA Planning Process
leadership/citizenship project. The teacher will work with each group to
assess (daily grade) the status of the projects.

Friday, February 10 (Standard 2.4 and 3.4):        The students will work
individually in the computer lab (technology connection) on their
family/history scrapbook. Time will be given in class each Friday for work
to be done (assessment daily grade).

Monday, February 13: The students are out of school for Parent-Teacher
Conferences.

Tuesday, February 14 (Careers): A guest speaker from Johnson and
Wales will speak to the class about career opportunities at their university.
The students will fill out the Guest Speaker Evaluation Form (assessment
daily grade) during the presentation.

Wednesday, February 15 (Standard 2.4 and 3.4):              Remind Unit 2 &
3 test on Wednesday, February 22. The students will identify the qualities
and skills needed to build a strong family and explain the importance of
spending time together. Textbook – Chapter 8.
Thursday, February 16 (Standard 2.4 and 3.4):              Remind Unit 2 &
3 test on Wednesday, February 22. The students will examine the effects
of technology on family life and identify benefits and costs of
communication technology in the family. Textbook Chapter 11. The
students will review for their unit 2 and 3 test.

Friday, February 17 (Standard 2.4 and 3.4):        The students will work
individually in the computer lab (technology connection) on their
family/history scrapbook. Time will be given in class each Friday for work
to be done (assessment daily grade).

Monday, February 20: The students are out of school for President’s Day.

Tuesday, February 21 (Standard 1):        The students will watch the
next “Who Do You Think You Are” video to continue to prepare for their
Family/History Scrapbook. The students will take notes on the show as they
watch (assessment daily grade). The students will review for their Unit 2
and 3 test on Wednesday.

Wednesday, February 22 (Standard 2.4 and 3.4):              The students will
take their unit test over Chapters 5, 8 and 11. After the test the students will
be given time in class to work on their family/history scrapbook.

Thursday, February 23 (Careers): A guest speaker from Daymar
Institute will speak to the class on career opportunities at the school and
about leadership potential.

Friday, February 24 (Standard 2.4 and 3.4):        The students will work
individually in the computer lab (technology connection) on their
family/history scrapbook. Time will be given in class each Friday for work
to be done (assessment daily grade).
