Community Matters Insurance partners of charlotte by Jeh5Wl

• If 10,000 employees banded together from one industry to make a
  difference in one city.
• If that city was Charlotte and the industry wasn't banking, but
• A city where insurance is known more for helping than anything

Well, no need to imagine any more. That effort is already underway,
and we invite you to be a part of something great in our local
insurance industry and our community.

United Family Services

• Our first selected charity

• Mission – to provide hope and solutions for people
  in crisis

• Vision – to provide support and resources to create a
better future for families and individuals who are
victims of interpersonal violence or trauma
About United Family Services –

• New Shelter - Building a new shelter in Mecklenburg County
for women and children who are victims of domestic violence
• Rape Crisis and Sexual Assault Services – In Mecklenburg,
  Union and Cabarrus counties
• Tree House Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) - Program
focusing on children who are victims of sexual assault and
  other violence
• Prevention – Education and awareness of domestic violence
to help prevent further violence and victimization
Why United Family Services
• The idea for Community Matters began at a UFS fundraising event –
a few insurance people thought we might be able to band together
to help make a difference at UFS
• It is a local charity that focuses on the needs of women and children
  in crisis
• We were struck by the fact that the shelter in Charlotte was smaller
than the shelters in Monroe, Concord and other smaller
• To stop the cycle of domestic violence, we must do something
much larger and more effective than what is available today
Community Matters 2012 –

• 4/27/12 – Dodgeball Event

• Local Fundraising Efforts - Each local office will run local fundraising efforts during
    the six-week campaign
• United Family Services Outreach
     – Education and awareness training available to firms during campaign and
