Issue: Detention Center Annual Report
Relevancy: Average daily occupancy 2011 was 233 with maximum capacity being 255.
Status: Recent reduction in average daily capacity attributed to County Solicitor’s Career Criminal Program.

Meeting: BC Rural & Critical Lands
Date: 03/08/2012
Issue: 2011 Program Annual Report.
Relevancy: 2816 acres preserved or protected in 2011at an average cost of $2,287 per acre.
Status: Yearly cost per acre is the lowest in the program's ten-year history.

Date: 03/07/2012
Issue: Stormwater drainage for new impervious surface from Hwy.278 widening
Relevancy: Additional 20 acres of surface would drain into the Okatie & Colleton Rivers.
Status: Four new ponds on County owner land to be created to capture runoff.

Issue: Conditional use zoning amendment
Relevancy: Would add schools and instruction as a permitted use in a residential zoning district.
Status: Passed on final reading unanimously.

Issue: Proposed new towing ordinance, regulating fees
Relevancy: Fee will match current County fees, and vehicles must be stored on Island.

Issue: LMO Rewrite
Relevancy: Consultant to deliver final draft within two weeks for initial public comment.
Status: Joint Planning & Council meeting to be held March 30.

Issue: Rezoning of six properties along Hwy.278 from Office Low Intensity to Commercial Center
Relevancy: Could be construed as spot zoning if approved before LMO Rewrite defines the area.

Issue: Ordinance amendment for the Port Royal PUD
Relevancy: Closing on property delayed until BAN loan is secured.
Status: Loan due to be secured within 45-60 days, issue to be voted on at the 3/14/12 Council meeting
