   to assist during cadet role play
    NEW PROGRAM DESIGN

• Personnel Requirements:
  * 2 year or greater officer regardless of
   current assignment
  * Non-FTOs
  * Detectives
• Training:
  * 10 hour TCLEOSE certification course
   CERTIFICATION COURSE

• 10 Hour Certification
  • West Point Leadership Theories
  • Arrest/Search/Seizure
  • General Orders
  • City Ordinances and other Policies
  • Cadet Scenarios / Evaluations
  • Hands-on Role-Play
 MISCELLANEOUS TRAINING

• New FTOs and Citizen Police
  Academy (CPA) members will
  receive a 2 hour block of instruction
• Existing FTOs and CPA will be
  trained as required
ROLE-PLAY SCENARIOS

       THE MASTER PLAN
• Develop lesson plan for TCLEOSE
  approval
• September 2002, begin training 10
  officers per month
• Supervisors have 2-3 personnel per shift
  or duty section “Role-Play” certified
• 130 new role players trained by
  September 2003
          BOTTOM LINE

• Little to no cost for training
• Supervisors do not lose their FTOs
  on a regular basis
• Supervisors have the flexibility to
  send different officers
