"VOLUNTEER RESOURCE PROGRAM"
VOLUNTEER RESOURCE PROGRAM Overview The Volunteer Resource Program enhances volunteerism by creating a central base resource for volunteer recruitment, referral, and recognition. Recognition, recruitment, and referral opportunities are provided for registered volunteers and volunteer administrators. Annually, there is a basewide recognition ceremony for presentation of the Volunteer Excellence Award and the Angel Award. To register as a Hurlburt Field volunteer, please fill out the volunteer registration form. The information is Privacy Act protected and is used solely for the purpose of fulfilling volunteer needs. The program manager for the Volunteer Resource Program is Ruthy Srun. The program is located at the Airman & Family Readiness Center, Bldg. 90213. For more information, call Ms. Srun at 884-5442 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org. Childcare for volunteers Recognizing the importance of volunteers to the base community, the Air Force Aid Society provides funding for the Child Care for Volunteers program. The certificate of eligibility entitles the volunteer to receive up to 32 hours of child care for each child per month while participating in the volunteer resource program at Hurlburt Field. It is hoped that this funding will be used to support as many volunteers as possible who work at a variety of agencies throughout the base. This child care will be provided in licensed family child care homes. This program is not meant to pay for child care for volunteers in resale (Thrift Shop), fund raising or social activities.
