							Diary George Devlin — 2009

      January, 2009   Commissioned to paint a portrait of His Grace the Archbishop of
                      Glasgow – Mario Conti. The first sitting was in January.

    February, 2009    Spent a month painting in India.

       March, 2009    Went to France to paint and spend time with the Art historian and
                      archivist Thierry Gardie who is writing a book about my life and
                      work which is due to be published at the end of 2009.

        April, 2009   Head down and preparing for the solo show at The Scottish Gallery
                      which opens June 2009.

        May, 2009     Paintings finished (nearly) and preparation under way for the
                      catalogue/card – at the mercy of the printer at this stage.

        June, 2009    Part of the RSW group to meet Prince Charles at Holyrood.
                      The Scottish Gallery Show opened and was declared a “triumph”
                      but no time to rest – off to Lewis to paint having been appointed
                      Artist in Residence at Garyvard, Lewis.

         July,2009    Final sitting with His Grace the Archbishop of Glasgow, somewhat
                      delayed as we are both very busy people.

       August,2009    Several group shows taking place this month (viz Island Fine Art,
                      Isle of Wight), The Red Rag Gallery (Stowe on the Wolde), RWS
                      at The Bankside Gallery, London, RSW at Forfar and ROI at the
                      Mall Galleries, London – busy month.

   September, 2009    Due to take a trip on the Canal du Midi with some friends- hope to
                      make some drawings. Following this with a painting trip at Le
                      Beauset in the Var.

     October, 2009    Yearly working pilgrimage to Venice.

   November, 2009     Hopefully the Thierry Gardie book should be near completion –
                      Maybe it will be available by December/January.

   December, 2009     May have an “ open- day “ at the studio – a small exhibition of
                      works on paper with the commission going to The Beatson
                      Oncology Centre without whom I would not be here and still
                      painting!

        May, 2010     Solo show at The Portland Gallery.
