MAY 2012 | WHITE GALLERY LONDON 2012
White Gallery London puts New Talent in the Spotlight
Following the overwhelming success of the New Talents at the 2011 show, Claire Mischevani, Hazaar of
London, KATYA KATYA SHEHURINA, Naomi Neoh and SADONI have been chosen as the ‘ones-to-watch’ this
year, will debut at White Gallery London 2012 as New Talents. Poised for critical and commercial acclaim,
these rising bridal stars will be catapulted on to an exciting global platform, with buyers from a far afield as
Japan and elite press from all corners of the globe in attendance.
Having been a bespoke designer for 10 years, Claire Mischevani will be launching
her second bridal collection “Innocenza” at the 2012 show. The unusual and
extremely desired elements to the collection are the full lace over dresses and
detachable pieces such as belts and shoulder detail, which allow brides to
completely transform their look throughout their special day. The collection is based
on her bestselling silhouettes, ensuring brides have a range of flattering shapes to
choose from in a wide range of beautiful fabrics. Claire has won various awards over
the years, including Designer of the Year in 2005. Many gowns have been sent all
over the world, for private clients, including various high-profile celebrities –which is
an amazing tribute to her success.
Meeting at the London College of Fashion in 2004, Isoline Hickman and Rachel
Farrimond became firm friends and decided to create bridal line Hazaar of
London. With a foundation of training and experience in garment design and a
love of classic style icons and designers, Rachel and Isoline fully immerse
themselves in the design and creation process of each of their gowns. Producing
unique designs with beautiful fabrics that complement each dress to create the
perfect movement and structure is paramount. Each Hazaar of London gown is
made-to-order and finished to a high standard, ensuring that each customer gets
the best of design, elegance and quality. All gowns are adaptable and are
designed to take the bride from day to evening without the need for a second
dress. Rachel and Isoline comment, ‘It is our aim at Hazaar of London to ensure that our gowns enable each
bride to look perfect throughout her wedding day, without compromise.’
London based Latvian designer KATYA KATYA SHEHURINA will be debuting her bridal
collection this year. Having gained a wealth of experience from her work for Nicolas
Faffiotte and David Purves, the well-known French designers, Katya created her own
brand back in 2007. Since then, her collections have gained significant recognition in her
native country, the UK, where her first independent boutique was opened, as well as in
Russia, Europe, the USA and the Middle East. Since opening her first independent
boutique in London in early 2011, the brand has been progressively gaining attention
from the UK media, as well as from buyers across the globe, further highlighting its great
potential. Often inspired by the 1920’s, KATYA KATYA SHEHURINA dresses are graceful
and elegant, employing very delicate lace elements, handmade embroidery details and
floating silk. They can be complemented by jackets that will make your choice look absolutely complete and
Naomi Neoh will make her first ever trade show appearance at White Gallery
London previewing her new 2013 collection. This incredibly romantic range is
inspired by the work of Norman Parkinson and the fashions of by-gone eras.
Expect the true grace and glamour of the 1930’s translated through stunning
dreamy wedding gowns. Luxurious fabrics including voile silk and couture weight
organza are delicately embellished with light glass beads. Thrilled by the revival of
costume pieces through television shows such as Downton Abbey, Naomi designed
a dress named after Lady Mary. A colour palette of vintage tones including shell
blush pink dyed to order and oyster shades are all incredibly flattering. Classic ball
gown shapes offer soft and beautiful movement whilst glittering laces add a subtle
statement that is reminiscent of the jazz age.
Married design duo, Trude and Hamid Sadoni, will be showing the SADONI bridal
collection to the international market for the first time at White Gallery London this
May. Inspired by Nordic nature and oriental ornaments, the forthcoming collection
captures a look that is modern, pure and natural with a romantic flair. Displaying
slim, simple cuts created in pure silk with superior craftsmanship and a light, fluid
construction that guarantees a comfortable and feminine fit the SADONI silhouette
is truly elegant and luxurious. The dresses are made of pure silk, where fluid
chiffon, light taffeta, heavy satin and structured silk tulle plays a key role. The
SADONI signature also has a certain French orientation due to the use of authentic
French lace and couture craftsmanship. The elaborate, hand-crafted embroideries
emphasize the high quality and attention to detail that SADONI place on each dress.
See the latest designs from Hazaar of London and Naomi Neoh come to life in the British Talent’s Preview
