POWER SMART NEW HOME PROGRAM
Bulk Application Form
Eligibility - Dwelling must be a new residential premise constructed in the BC Hydro service area.
- For natural gas incentives, dwelling must be a new residential premise constructed in the FortisBC natural gas service territories.
- Application must be submitted within one year of project completion.
Instructions This Bulk Application form is used to apply for incentives for multiple unit developments. If you are applying for single build
homes, complete the Single Home Application Form at bchydro.com/newhome.
Step 1: Review the Terms & Conditions, check the declaration box, and sign on the bottom of this page.
Step 2: Complete the application form as accurately as possible.
Step 3: Forward your signed page, application form(s) and copies of relevant receipts/invoices by:

Terms and Conditions
1. To be eligible for payment of an incentive (“Incentive”) under the Power Smart New Home Program (the “Program”) all of these terms and conditions
must be met to the satisfaction of BC Hydro and FortisBC Energy Inc., FortisBC Energy (Vancouver Island) Inc. and FortisBC Energy (Whistler) Inc.
(together, “FortisBC”).
2. Payment of the Incentive is limited to new residential premises constructed in the BC Hydro service area, and/or Fortis BC gas service territory except
where EnerGuide 80 is mandated by municipal bylaws or building codes. The applicant to the Program (the “Applicant”) warrants to BC Hydro and FortisBC
that the residence(s) located at the address stated in the Development Information portion of the Application Form is eligible for the Incentive (the
“Development”).
3. To be eligible for the Incentive, the Applicant must apply within one year of project completion of the Development (completion date as defined as
occupancy permit date).
4. The Applicant acknowledges and agrees that the Development must be rated as a new home. In order for BC Hydro and FortisBC to confirm the homes
and/or products meet the Program criteria, the Applicant will supply BC Hydro and FortisBC: (a) where applicable, a copy of the EnerGuide file number and
approved EnerGuide rating for each EnerGuide rated housing unit. (b) Where applicable, the Applicant will supply for the relevant ENERGY STAR and
natural gas appliance(s) installed in the Development copies of clear, legible, sales receipt(s) and/or invoice summaries to clearly indicate the manufacturer,
model number or other relevant information as proof of payment about the product(s) installed in the Development. Natural gas appliance installations
require a copy of the gas contractor invoice that contains the purchase date, date of installation, gas permit number, details of the work performed, and the
BC Safety Authority registration number of the gas fitter.
5. All products installed in the Development must meet qualifications defined by BC Hydro and/or FortisBC and described in the Program website at:
bchydro.com/powersmart/builders_developers/new_home_program.html. Natural gas appliances must be installed in accordance with the requirements of
the BC Safety Authority and/or gas authority having jurisdiction in your area and in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and all applicable
laws, codes, standards and ordinances. Natural gas appliances must be purchased or installed between May 1, 2012 and December 31, 2013.
6. ENERGY STAR labelled appliances must be listed on the Natural Resources Canada website: energystar.gc.ca or the US government website:
energystar.gov. Natural gas appliances must be listed on directories at fortisbc.com/newhomes to be eligible for incentives.
7. BC Hydro and FortisBC have the right to inspect the Development to verify the installed product(s) before an Incentive is paid, and the Applicant will
allow, if requested, a BC Hydro and/or FortisBC representative reasonable access to the Development. No Incentive will be paid if the inspection is refused.
8. The Applicant agrees that the selection, purchase, installation and ownership/maintenance of the appliances, products or equipment for which the
Applicant is claiming a rebate or which is provided to the Applicant under the Program are the Applicant’s sole responsibility and that the provider(s) of
same is/are not affiliated with BC Hydro or any of its Power Smart programs or FortisBC and that BC Hydro and FortisBC will not be liable for any act or
omission of such provider. The Applicant understands that BC Hydro and FortisBC makes no representation or warranty, whether expressed or implied in
respect of any such appliances, products or equipment that the Applicant has chosen or for which an Applicant has applied for an Incentive under the
Program. The Applicant agrees that BC Hydro and FortisBC has no liability concerning: (a) the quality, safety, and/or installation of the products; (b) the
estimated energy savings of the products; (c) the workmanship of any third parties; and (d) the installation or use of the products.
9. The Applicant releases from liability and agrees not to sue BC Hydro, FortisBC or any of their affiliates or any of their respective officers, directors, or
employees for any loss or damage that the Applicant may suffer as a result of the installation or use of any appliances, products or equipment for which an
Incentive is paid under the Program.
10. The Applicant is responsible for meeting all Program requirements and complying with any laws, regulations or by-laws regarding permits, codes,
restrictions or inspections in relation to appliances, products or equipment installed. BC Hydro and FortisBC will not be responsible for any late, lost,
incomplete, illegible, misdirected, delayed or destroyed application forms, and will not accept application forms related to previous iterations of this or similar
programs.
11. BC Hydro and FortisBC’s decisions relating to the Program, including without limitation, product acceptability, customer eligibility and amount of the
Incentive, shall be final and binding and not subject to appeal.
12. BC Hydro and/or FortisBC reserve the right to change or terminate the Program at any time without notice. A completed eligible application received
prior to a change or termination of the Program will be administered in accordance with the Program as it existed effective as of the date of the Applicant
Application.
13. The products approved for Incentives cannot be combined with any other BC Hydro Power Smart or FortisBC offer or promotion.
14. A rebate cheque is generally mailed within 90 days unless the Applicant’s application is selected for verification, which may result in additional
processing time.
15. By applying for this offer, the Applicant acknowledges that BC Hydro and/or FortisBC or one of their agents may contact the Applicant in the future to
participate in a survey regarding this program.
16. BC Hydro and FortisBC are collecting your personal information on this form for the purpose of processing your application for the Program Incentive.
BC Hydro administers the Program and related activities in furtherance of BC Hydro’s energy conservation mandate and obligations under the Clean Energy
Act and the Utilities Commission Act. FortisBC administers the Program and related activities in furtherance of FortisBC’s energy conservation mandate
and the Utilities Commission Act. If you have any questions regarding the Program, and/or the information collection undertaken on this form, please
