their responsibilities in structuring their institutions’ various offices to successfully manage the
Direct Loan program on their campuses.

 9:45 – 10:30 Student Eligibility

Reviewing ISIR Data/FAA Access

All Title IV Schools are required to participate electronically and using these systems is a
necessity. This session will show how looking at these screens, schools will be able to review
and determine if the student is eligible for Title IV aid. This session will also explore the other
student eligibility criteria as the student is meeting institutional SAP standards, etc. Using
EDconnect to connect to the SAIG and retrieve records will also be shown.

determine subsidized Direct Loan eligibility after determining financial need and EFA, then
determining unsubsidized Direct Loan eligibility and Direct PLUS loan funds. Schools will
complete a case study on awarding loans and adjusting if additional outside EFA becomes
available.

Cash Management

All Title IV schools must follow regulations related to managing Direct Loan funds. This session

Using FAA Access to review ISIRs

Schools will have the opportunity to connect with FSA’s FAA Access Demonstration site and
review and make corrections to an ISIR record. The audience will use a case study “scavenger
hunt” to find the relevant student eligibility items from the morning session related to FAA
Access/ISIRs.

2:45 – 3:45 Using Direct Loan Origination Tool and COD Action Queue

Schools will be lead through DLOT and the COD Action Queue functions of creating profiles,
loan records and entering disbursements by an instructor as they follow along on the COD
DLOT CBT. Participants are encouraged to ask questions of the instructor about how to
accomplish certain tasks.

 3:45 – 4:45 Using NSLDS

Schools will have the opportunity to complete tasks using the NSLDS Training System to
research a student’s eligibility by reviewing their financial aid history and any warning statuses
that may affect the student’s eligibility for Direct Loans. The participants will also learn how to
review and update the student’s enrollment status as well as how to manage receipt of enrollment
reporting documents and NSLDS reports.

4:45 – 5:15 Next Steps at the FSA Conference

Foreign Schools only participate in the Direct Loan program and the FSA Conference has several
sessions specific to administering Direct Loans by all schools. This session will provide a list of
sessions that Foreign Schools are strongly encouraged to attend. This session will also outline the
