                  Belk to Unveil New Exterior Store Signage
 Special event at flagship Atlanta store part of new $70 million brand identity initiative

WHAT:        New Belk logo signage on exterior of flagship store at Phipps Plaza will be unveiled in a
             special presentation.

             Penrod will be available for media interviews immediately following the unveiling.

             Belk will also make a check presentation to one of its longstanding community partners,
             Junior League of Atlanta.

             The special presentation will take place on top of the parking garage on the back side of
             the Belk building

             From 400, take Lenox Rd toward Peachtree Rd. Turn left onto Peachtree Rd. and left
             into the Phipps Plaza parking lot. Drive around the building to the back of the Belk store.
