Dear Summer Camp Parents:
Welcome to the Chaires “Extreme Olympics” Summer Camp. This year’s summer camp is sure
to be an exciting, fun-filled ten weeks of sports, history, enrichment activities and fieldtrips. Join
us as we bring the Olympics to Chaires! Thank you for registering for our camp. We are glad you
can join us.
Our first week of camp starts on Monday June 4th and ends August 10th, 2012. Please note there
is a week at the end of camp before school starts when there is no program offered. Also, we will
be closed on Wednesday, July 4th.
We open at 7 AM and close at 6 PM. Late pick-up fees are due after 6:00 PM. You may bring
your child later than 7:00 AM as long as you arrive at least half an hour before the bus departure
time. I have enclosed a copy of the fieldtrip schedule and events so you will be able to plan
accordingly. Also included are the policy statement and a registration form. All checks and
money orders should be made payable to Leon County Schools. Cash payments are not
accepted. Fees are not transferable or refundable. There is a one-time only registration fee of
$50.00 per student. This payment is due at registration. The weekly tuition is $135.00.
Payments must be made on the first day of the week. Please turn in your payment on Monday
when you sign your child in at Little Chaires School. A late fee of $11 will be added to your
payment if it isn’t received by Monday afternoon. The daily drop-in rate is $40 per day. This
daily fee will be assessed if your child attends fewer than 5 days per week. Sign up only for the
weeks that are needed. Priority will be given to full-time students. If you sign up for a week and
do not show up, you will be charged for that week regardless of whether or not you used it. Drop-
ins are accepted ONLY if space is available on the bus.
Parents MUST sign their children in and out each day. This is for your child’s safety, and we
take it very seriously. It also gives us a chance to talk to you about our day’s events and helps you
to get to know us better. If your child takes medication, please make sure that you receive a
medication form from the front desk. Make sure that all the pertinent information is filled out and
signed. We cannot give your child any medication without this form.
Your child will need to bring a labeled lunch and drink each day. Every Monday you will be able
to pick up a weekly calendar that shows a detailed outline of classes and events. There may be
some changes in the schedule due to weather or other circumstances. There may be extra charges
for some fieldtrips. Some days have been scheduled with a visit to a restaurant and those days
you will be asked to bring cash for your child’s lunch. Please label all of your child’s
belongings so we can return them to you, if lost and found. Fieldtrips will be taken on LCS
Buses or Tour buses. Our capacity for the bus is 60 students. If space is available, parents are
welcome to join us. Otherwise, you will need to drive. Younger siblings are not allowed on the
bus. My staff and I are looking forward to meeting you, getting to know your child, and having a
