									                                   ICT across the curriculum

Some software lends itself to many applications across a range of subjects
 Word processing and DTP software e.g Write On for Windows, Clicker, Word,
Publisher – children can use these to communicate ideas, fill in charts (e.g.
cause/effect, for/against etc), create leaflets, fill in online worksheets etc etc.
 Mind mapping software e.g. Mind Manager – can be used by the teacher to record
initial ideas, questions etc, and can be referred to again and again, or be used by the
children to record their ideas and understanding
 Presentation software e.g. PowerPoint – can be used to present findings to the rest of
         the class/group etc
 Word search software e.g. ‘Quick search’ word search maker – can be used to
introduce vocabulary, as a cloze procedure, or by the children to demonstrate
         understanding
