AWA Meeting October 6, 2008 Secretary: Katie Klessig Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm Secretary’s Report: Katie took attendance and there were 40 members present along with our potentials. She reminded us that the composite picture is being done on Oct. 28th from 1-5pm. Maura Tracey and Hannah Uhlenhanke were voted to go inactive. Kristen Natzke moved to accept the secretary’s minutes and Lauren Walsh seconded. Treasurer’s Report: Starting Balance: $9,123.17 Ending Balance: $12,576.07 Vice President Report: Rachael reminded us that emails are welcome. President’s Report Dinner with the Dean Molly Jahn on October 13, 2008 at 5:30pm. Everyone is welcome! Corp Board Meeting Brick campaign raised $5,000 to go towards house improvements and the mortgage. Alumni wants are chapter to rent storage unit to house some of the stuff in the basement. Kudos to the ladies working at expo. Membership Report: 5:30pm Union South Nov. 24th --Initiation Potential meeting tomorrow night. Activities Report: Sex in the city movie night went well. Homecoming Food Drive October 16th. Homecoming dates are October 17th through the 25th. The 19th is the Charity Run/Walk at 11:00am. The 20th is Badger Games. The 22nd and 23rd are the blood drive at 9:00am to 5pm. Thursday the 24th Welcome Chancellor Martin. The 24th is the Parade at 5:00pm and Fireworks. The Football game is on October 25th. Public Relations: CALS Student Council had an emergency meeting because our eligibility of getting money from ASM was revoked. We are going to try to appeal, to help let Chelsea know. Alumni: RWW will be Fitchburg at the Candlewood Inns and Suites. RWW is November 21st from 4-7:30pm. Let Katie Klessig or Steph Paul know if you can’t be there. Donor recognition night is Oct. 30th at 4:00pm. April 4th is AWA Day. Need ideas for motivational speaker. The Alumni Active Partnership forms need to be filled out. Fundraising: Thank you to everyone that helped at World Dairy Expo. Sign up for football parking. Scholarship Member of the month needs nominations. Please leave in Lydia’s mailbox. Gifts were passed out for all the students that were on the Dean’s List. Sentinel: Barb Lee is coming on November 3rd to speak. Sunshine: Decorating the house on Sunday the 12th for Halloween. AWA Wear: Liz Stower got on Homecoming Court. Website: AWA2008 is the password to send Kudos. Send Jade updated resumes. Service Projects: Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build is Nov 1st or Nov 8th from 8-3pm and lunch is provided, counts worth two service projects. Charity run and blood drive and food drive for service. House Manager: Sign-up to help clean the basement. Oct. 12th at noon. House Steward: Announced the menu for the week Intent to Pledge No Old Business New Business: Joell Henken moved to sponsor $100 for BKOC. Kelsi Retalick seconded it. Meeting adjourned at 7:30pm.
