CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
We proudly invite you to our 2011 Contact Conference with this year’s theme: “Engaging Diverse
Communities in Workforce Connections” held in Saskatoon, SK. This theme allows us to
explore career development from four main themes:
Career Practice Tools and Strategies
Labour Market Information
Job Search Techniques
Partnerships and Programming
We are currently looking for presenters to apply to be part of this year’s conference with the
o Interactive - using demonstrations, discussions and/or lectures (75 minute session)
o Information Session – intended to provide an opportunity for participants to learn about
innovative effective programs and practices related to the various topics listed. These sessions
will be offered in a “Conversation Café” format with various programs highlighted in one
session. (20 minute session and will be repeated)
o Hands-on – Intended to actively engage participants over fifty percent of the session time,
dealing with programming, best practices, and obtaining new skills. (session can vary from 75
minutes to 3 hours)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION
1. Proposals must be received by November 15, 2010 by one of the following:

2. A confirmation of receipt of application and subsequent communication will be sent to the
contact listed on the application form.
3. By submitting a presentation proposal, it is understood that the presenter(s) agree to present and
to participate as proposed, if accepted.
4. The Contact Conference Planning Committee reserves the right to make final presentation
selections and edit abstracts. Applicants will be informed of the acceptance or decline of their
proposal through presenter 1 (submitting presenter).
5. Please note that two presenters are provided with a discounted conference fee. Other expenses
incurred to attend are the responsibility of the presenter(s). By submitting a presentation
proposal, it is understood that the presenter(s) agree(s) to present and to participate as
proposed, if accepted. If you will just be presenting your session and not attending the
conference, there will be no charge.
6. Write an accurate program description, as you want it to appear in the final program. One of the
biggest disappointments is attending a session that is not what you thought it was going to be!
The Program Committee reserves the right to edit abstracts.
7. Support will be provided to presenters requiring audio-visual equipment. Your request MUST BE
PRE-APPROVED and the Conference Committee will try and accommodate your request.
8. Presenters are invited to submit summary reports and copies of their presentations/handouts for
possible publication on the Contact Conference website and/or for electronic distribution.
9. The Presenter is responsible for copying their handouts/presentations for distribution to session
10. The Contact Conference Planning Committee may accept more than one presentation from a
single speaker. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis given the number of presentation
proposals available and the mix of topics submitted.
11. By submitting a presentation proposal, it is understood that the presenter(s) agree to be part of
an evaluation process that asks conference participants to evaluate each session they attend.
