Culinary Institute of America Scholarship for National Student Organization Members – must be a participant
of SkillsUSA, FCCLA, or ProStart for at least one academic year, 500 word essay. Application in the counselors

Gates Millennium Scholars – must be African Am, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American
or Hispanic American, legal resident or national of the United States, have a 3.3 GPA, have demonstrated leadership
ability. More information in the counselors office. Deadline is January 12, 2009.
Horatio Alger Association Scholarship – minimum GPA of 2.0, community service activities, financial need. Apply

Louise Sallinger Academy of Fashion Fund Scholarship – students pursuing a career in fashion, demonstrate
financial need, one page essay and two letters of reference. Applications are in the counselors office. Deadline is
March 2, 2009.
Comparto, Elden, Lewis, and Sparks Scholarship Fund – demonstrate financial need, 200 word essay, two letters
of reference. Applications are in the counselors office. Deadline is March 13, 2009.

Baskin Family Charitable Trust Scholarship – must demonstrate financial need, have a “B” average or better in
high school, some preference will be given to Jewish and African-American students. Applications are in the
counselors office. Deadline is April 6, 2009.
National Assoc. of Women in Construction - CAD/Design/Drafting Scholarship Award Competition
For high school students. Open to male and female students. Applications are in the counselors office.
William J. Wolf Memorial Scholarship Fund – must be of the Lutheran denomination, maintain good grades,
demonstrate financial need, and a letter of reference from your Pastor. Deadline is March 11, 2009. Applications are
in the counselors office.
Pennsylvania Elk State Assoc. Scholarship – students can apply online at www.elks.org, click “lodge locator’ and
enter the school zip code. Deadline is January 9, 2009.
Central Scholarship and Loan Referral Service – based on financial need for any Jewish high school student.
Deadline is Feb. 4, 2009.
Oliver L. Johnson & William L. Lester Families Fund – preference will be given to African American students,
must have a 2.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and complete a 300 word essay. Deadline is April 1, 2009.

Burger King Scholars Program – have a 2.5 GPA, work part-time, be involved in community service activities,

Horatio Alger Association – show financial need, involved in community activities, 2.0 GPA,
B. Kenneth Simon Free Enterprise Scholarship – to compete for this scholarship to Robert Morris you must
demonstrate financial need, be sponsored by a faculty member at your school, possess a 3.0 GPA , have a SAT
score of 1100 (math & reading) or 24 ACT score. Deadline is Feb. 27, 2009.
Eleanor Friedberg Art Scholarship – must submit six original works of art, plan to attend or enroll in a 2 – 4 year
college or career school. Applications are in the counselors office. Work is to be submitted April 1 - 3, 2009.
Irene S. and Harry Louik College Scholarship Fund – must demonstrate special aptitude, ability or achievement in
one or more of the performing arts, demonstrate pride in educational accomplishments, demonstrate financial need,
complete an one page essay. Deadline is May 15, 2009.
Junior Achievement of Western PA Scholarships – must have participated in JA within the last 4 years, 3.0GPA,
and a teacher recommendation. More information in the counselors office. Deadline is Nov. 30, 2008.
