To: All Proposers to RFP BT10-01 for Consulting Services, Online MBA Feasibility Study

Re: Questions and Answers to Date, 6/17/11

Q1) What analysis has been done so far? Can any previous work be shared to sharpen the focus of this
project?
A1) The vendor must be prepared to address the project on its own and not rely upon prior studies or
analysis performed by the OCOB. The purpose is for a third party to prepare an independent study and not be
influenced by, or rely upon, pre-existing works of the OCOB.

Q2) Is the contractor leading or working with an OCOB team to perform the study, or is the contractor
expected to perform all of the work (gathering/analyzing the information) alone?
A2) The contractor is working alone and should not expect to delegate any tasks to OCOB.

Q3) Who is the primary sponsor (position in organization) for this study? Who will be the primary point of
contact (position in organization) for this study?
A3) The Graduate Program Commmittee (GPC) which handles graduate curriculum developed the RFP.
The chair of the GPC and a member of the Dean's office can serve as a point of contact upon contract award.

Q4) What OCOB resources will be available/accessible for this study for both guidance and/or informational
purposes?
A4) The chair of the GPC and a member of the Dean's Office can meet with the selected contractor for
guidance, but no work or analysis tasks are to be delegated back to those persons. The contractor must
perform the study.

Q5) How would OCOB prioritize or give weighting to the questions in the Scope of Services?
A5) All are important.

Q6) Does OCOB have relationships with other institutions that can be leveraged for the collection of market
information?
A6) Not for this project.

Q7) How much experience do current OCOB faculty have in developing and/or delivering online courses?
A7) There are some faculty members who teach online and also online course developers.

Q8) Do you expect the current faculty to develop and deliver all of the online MBA courses? If not, what are
the other sources of content development?
A8) Yes.

Q9) How many online courses have already been developed and deployed by Cal Poly?
A9) Cannot comment on Cal Poly, as this RFP is only for OCOB.

Q10) How many online courses have already been developed and deployed by the OCOB?

                                                                                                                1
A10) The two key courses available online are for marketing and for finance. Other courses have varying
online support through teaching tools.

Q11) What information sources are available regarding alumni of Cal Poly's agriculture, engineering,
math/science, and architecture undergraduate programs? Is there a mechanism available to survey alumni
and/or students?
A11) Not directly.

Q12) Does OCOB currently support a Learning Management System? If so, which one? How widely is it
used?
A12) No.

                                                                                                          2
