					           Circle

The set of points in a plane
at a given distance from a
   given point in that plane
*The given point is the center
*The given distance is radius
            Radius
* A segment with one endpoint the
center and the other endpoint on
the circle
* It is also the length of this
segment
* All radii of a circle are congruent
       Chord
  A segment whose
endpoints lie on a circle
     Secant
A line that contains a
   chord of a circle
     Diameter
A chord that contains the
   center of the circle
(Also refers to the length
    of this segment)
      Tangent
A line in the plane of a
 circle that intersects the
circle in exactly one point,
     called the point of
          tangency
     Sphere
The set of all points in
space that are a given
distance from a given
        point
Congruent circles
   Circles that have
    congruent radii
Concentric circles
Circles that lie in the same
plane and have the same
           center
A polygon is inscribed in a circle if
all the vertices are on the circle
 A circle in circumscribed about
the polygon if each vertex of the
  polygon lies on the circle
Great Circle
 The intersection of a sphere
 with any plane passing
 through the center of the
 sphere.
Common Chord
Achord that is in each of
two distinct circles.
