                          Feathered Friends Add Free-Flight Fun
ORLANDO, Fla. (2009) — In the one-of-a-kind tropical paradise of Discovery Cove, animal
interactions don’t only take place in the water where guests can swim with dolphins, rays,
and myriad of tropical fish. In the 12,000-square-foot free-flight Explorer’s Aviary, guests can
touch, mingle with, and even hand-feed more than 250 tropical birds.

Guests enter the Aviary’s lush environment by way of the Discovery Cove beaches, or by
drifting through the Wind-Away River’s refreshing waterfalls and interact with an array of
colorful birds from around the world – from the tiny South American Blue Dacnis to the larger
African Abdim’s Stork. Divided into three sanctuaries, the Aviary includes stone catacombs to
explore, and can be enjoyed on foot or from the twisting river that carries guests through the
bird-lover’s paradise.

Soaring to more than 40 feet at its center, and with a dense cover of tropical plants, the
Aviary provides a familiar, natural setting for the 90 species of birds that call it home.
Squeals of delight mix with a chorus of bird song as guests discover that their arms, shoulders
and heads also provide welcome landing spots. Staffed feeding stations are located
throughout the Aviary, where guests can find bird food and ask questions while also learning
fascinating facts about the birds.

Located in the heart of Orlando, Discovery Cove is an exclusive, reservations-only adventure
offering guests extraordinary adventures through up-close encounters with dolphins and other
exotic marine life. Providing the ultimate in guest service, Discovery Cove limits attendance
to approximately 1,000 visitors per day for this all-inclusive adventure. For reservations, visit
DiscoveryCove.com or call 1-877-4-DISCOVERY.
