Introduction

I am currently a graduate student from Bournemouth University having completed my degree course in
CAD 3D Computer Modelling and Animation (FdSc) and achieving a high Merit. I thoroughly enjoy all
aspects of art and animation, this probably started from making animations at an early age on our Amiga
system with Deluxe Paint 4 which required a lot of patience you had to draw pictures pixel by pixel! I have
always been creative and am able to sucessfully utilise the lastest commercial software to construct 3D
models and generate animations. I work hard to achieve my goals and in the future hope to use my skills
for multimedia productions i.e films or games.

Work Experience

2006 – Worked as a 3D pre-visualisation artist at Allies & Morrison in London. Here I spent my time
working on numerous projects with different teams, renovating and creating structures. The first project I
was part of was the ‘Moorgate project,’ which was to modernise an old building on the corner of Moorgate
in Central London. My role within the project’s team was to model the existing building and the new
proposed building elevations, using pictures, blueprints and imported AutoCAD files. Renders were also
required to be setup with textures, lighting systems and effects. Some of the files were then passed on to
another employee for post-production effects.

Another project I worked on was Liverpool’s hugely awaited ‘The Paradise Project’, which is a regeneration
project covering 42 acres in the heart of the city. My task within this project’s team was to design a gigantic
ODEAN cinema sign for the complex, in multiple areas of Paradise Street, which I went on to model.

2003 – Assisted a primary school teacher at St. Michaels Primary School in Lichfield, Staffordshire. Here, I
had the opportunity to develop my communication and organisational skills by helping pupils with reading
and learning. I also helped the teacher to prepare work for her pupils.

2002 – Worked as a shop floor assistant at WHSmiths in Lichfield, Staffordshire. This role enabled me to
become an active member of a team and experience the day to day conduct of a working environment.
Each day I was required to undertake different roles. These roles included floor assistant, shelf stacking,
stock checking, shelf organising and price tagging. This experience allowed me to develop my
communication, problem solving and team working skills through dealing with customers and by helping
other employees.

Hobbies and Interests

Film - I have a firm interest in film. I am especially interested in CGI. I find concept of computerised
animation and its ability to capture the imagination of the audience fascinating. From an early age I have
thus been independently learning about the process of design and have developed my own 3D creations.

Sketching - I do a lot of sketch work to both aid in and compliment my 3D work. I did a lot of sketch work
when I was studying Graphics for A-Level. This sketch work was mostly concepts and initial ideas for the
product I was required to design, and was accompanied by a 3D render of the finished product. I often
pencil draw, but I also enjoy developing my work using the computer. I achieve this by the means of
scanning my pencil drawings into the computer and then building on them in an image application. I
sometimes go on to model them in a 3D visualisation program.

Sport - I have a general appreciation for sport and strongly enjoy the challenge of participating in many
different activities. I particularly enjoy playing football and being part of a team. At school, I had the
opportunity to take on the role of both a leader and active team member when I managed a football team
of younger students for a sports day event and participated in a similar event with my peers. Throughout
my secondary school career, I have competed in most sporting events which included football and
athletics. Outside school, I have also always been keen to part take in various sporting activities. For
several years, I practised Shotoden Karaté and achieved many belts, which were a demonstration of my
skill rank. This sport proved to be sufficiently challenging. As it is a non-contact sport, it was extremely
important to thoroughly work on technique to ensure the safety of others during training. Also during the
summer of 1997, I had the opportunity to train with Warwickshire County Cricket Club as part of a Youth
Scheme. This was an extremely exciting experience. From this I was able to achieve both silver gold skills
awards.

Music - I have much admiration for music and particularly enjoy seeing live bands. I am interested in a
wide genre of music, which includes most, if not all categories. As well as listening to music, I too like to
play instruments. At primary school, I learnt to play the violin and was able to reach stage three. Currently,
I play the acoustic and electric guitar and am completely self-taught.

Travel – I enjoy travelling and have visited many countries worldwide including Malaysia, Singapore,
Mauritius, Canada and several European countries. I intend to travel more in the future.
