Re: The impact of the school library on student learning

The school year and the school library: An Annual Report
The ____________ School Library Program continues to be an integral part of student learning
and teacher instruction around _______________ High School. Our mission and job, “to ensure
that students are effective users of ideas and information” informs our work with teachers,
students and support staff, influences our purchases, and guides how we spend our time daily.
As a library staff, we work hard as a team to meet the challenges of ensuring all students are
able to find, understand and use information. This report seeks to share the successes of the
library program throughout this school year, and set goals for future improvement of the
library program.

We have seen improvements in student use of information, in teacher/teacher-librarian
collaboration use of library time, and of library staff service to teachers around the building.
We have seen an increase in checkout of print materials to students, and an increase in
technology equipment checkout to staff for integration into their classrooms. Numbers of users
in and out of the library is very high and library space is usually busy and booked throughout
the year.

I continue to be involved in various leadership roles in our building, our district and around
the state. In the upcoming school year, I will be serving as ____________, and this role will
increase my knowledge and understanding of how to help our library program be the best in
the state.
