Job Title:  Manager, Communications
Reports To: Vice President, Communications
FLSA Status Exempt

Job Summary
The Manager of Communications is responsible for compiling daily news clips, ensuring the
press kit is updated frequently, updating and providing website content, developing press
releases and media statements, and working with the Vice President of Communications to
develop and implement a comprehensive media and public relations strategy for CSBS.

Job Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty

assigned to meet business needs.

   1. Compile relevant articles to product daily news clippings.
   2. Create and update website content for the Communications divisions.
   3. Draft press releases, statements, opinion pieces, speeches and other original pieces.
   4. Ensure the CSBS Press Kit is updated frequently.
   5. Develop on-going use of technology tools such as blogging, social networking,
      podcasting to advance CSBS policy positions.
   6. Maintain and update the CSBS Member Directory.
   7. Contribute to the weekly newsletter, The Examiner.
   8. Meet regularly with CSBS leadership to keep up to date on all aspects of CSBS and the
      current initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and
abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training and/or work experience

Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Either a declared major or minor in Communications or Public Relations.
  3. A general interest in financial services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Knowledge of banking industry and banking regulatory environment.
2. Excellent writing skills. This position requires the ability to clearly and effectively present
   ideas in an interesting and persuasive manner. The individual must be open to input and
   edits from co-workers and banking department staff.
3. The individual should have strong research skills and the intellectual curiosity to understand
   legislative and regulatory history.
4. Ability to work across all CSBS disciplines in a positive and productive manner to further
   our policy goals.
5. Interpersonal skills – shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, cooperation,
   concern, and politeness to others; relates well to different people from varied backgrounds
   and different situations.
6. Results orientation - ability to work at a fast pace and meet critical deadlines.
7. Oral communication – makes clear and convincing oral presentations to individuals or
   groups; listens effectively and clarifies information as needed; facilitates and open exchange
   of ideas and fosters and atmosphere of open communication.
8. Organization and planning – able to organize or schedule people or tasks; develops realistic
   actions plans while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability.
