Iron Complex: 28 fires 69,992 acres 62% contained California IMT 4
Current Fire Situation: Continued progress was made today on the Eagle and Cedar fires. A
burnout was completed on the Eagle Fire in the Soldier Creek Area. Containment lines on the
north and east flanks of the Eagle fire remain secure significantly reducing the threat to Junction
City. The Ironside fire has reached 100% containment, and National Guard crews will focus
efforts starting tomorrow on mop-up of both the Ironside and Zeigler fires in order to ensure no
hot spots remain.
Main Objectives: Eagle Fire: Crews will continue to secure fire lines as the fire moves south
toward containment lines. Cedar: In order to reduce the threat to Big Bar, burnout operations
will continue along the east flank, from the south to north in the Big Bar area. Buckhorn Fire:
Fire lines will be constructed from Prairie Creek Road towards Tremlor Ridge to the northeast
and towards Highway 299 to the southwest. Carey Fire: Crews will continue to monitor for spot
fires, conduct line construction, and confinement tactics. Ironside & Zeigler: California
National Guard –Task Force Shovel will focus on mop-up activities up to 200 feet inside the fire
Lime Complex: 92 fires 116,488 acres 65% Cont. Southwest National IMT2
Current Fire Situation: The drop in acreage is a result of removing those acres that are being
suppressed by the BLM and CalFire. A mandatory evacuation continues to be in place for the Hidden
Valley Area. Fire behavior remains active under current weather conditions on all uncontained fires.
Weather is expected to stay hot and dry which will hinder suppression activities.
Main objectives: Protection of communities and private lands continues. Miners Fire: Weather
permitting, crews will continue to burnout handline from Sims Gap and Hyampom Road. Engines will
continue structure protection. Lime Fire: Structure protection will remain in place on the Lime Fire in
the Hidden Valley and Friend Lake area. Vinegar Fire: With the northern perimeter controlled, work
continues on the east flank. Both direct and indirect attack will continue to hold the fire from moving
out of the wilderness area.
Hell’s Half: 1 fire 15,146 acres 96% Cont. Southern Area Blue Team
Current Fire Situation: Firefighters had another successful day along the northwestern
perimeter of the Hell’s Half fire. Burnout operations, utilizing hand and aerial ignition, are mostly
complete for the 15,146 acre blaze. The Southern Area Blue Incident Command Team will
transition with the Southern California Team 1 (Type 2) tomorrow.
Quesinberry’s Southern Area Incident Management Blue Team will be transferring command to
Joseph’s Southern California Interagency Incident Management Team One tomorrow.
Main objectives: Crews will continue to mop-up along firelines in the northwestern portion of
the fire. They will also monitor fire activity in the interior pockets of unburned fuels west of the
South Fork of the Trinity River.
