Personal Profile and International Experience:
My present position is Project Directors for an Eastern European Property Developer called Westhouse Group
responsible for the delivery of a number of high rise residential projects. I have senior executive
responsibilities regularly reporting directly to the CEO and the Board and have full control of the development
budget and key relationships. Further details are noted below.
I am a Project Management Professional with over twenty five years experience in the management of major
international construction projects in the following locations:
Algeria, Australia, Austria, Malaysia, Qatar, UK, Vietnam and Romania.
I have sound leadership and man management skills and have successfully assembled and managed multi-
national, multi-cultural construction teams. My responsibilities on major projects are at the executive level and
I can demonstrate steady career progression from my initial position as a trainee Planner to Site Engineer,

My present position is Projects Director with an established property development company in Romania. The
company has focused on residential and mixed use developments and has three multi-storey concrete framed
projects underway in Constanta on the Black Sea coast. I report to the CEO of the holding company and am
responsible for project delivery, contractual, commercial, safety, quality and overall financial control and
development profitability of the projects. I have control of the development budget of some € 70 Million. All
main contracts are based on the FIDIC FE99 (Red Book) Contract Form. I am also responsible for key
aspects of the FIDIC contract administration including Advance Payment & Performance Guarantees,
Insurance provisions, IPC review and endorsement, Change Control, Variations, Final Account negotiations
etc. I am also responsible for the selection of external service providers/consultants, contractual arrangements
and for the management of their activities and their overall performance. These include; Contractors;
Architects; Engineers, Services Consultants and other external consultancy companies. I also manage the
Development Team made up of expatriate surveyor and local project managers/ engineers.

My position was Senior Project Manager on this iconic concrete and steel structure – The project constitutes a
45 storey Office Tower which provides over 1 Million sq ft of office space, a Technical Building and Fitness
Centre – A Design & Construct contract under the FIDIC (Orange Book) Design, Build & Turnkey Conditions
of Contract. I reported to the resident Project Director and was responsible for programme, safety and quality
aspects. The project was in significant delay when I joined and was the subject of a contractual claim.

Romania & Austria Sept 06 to April 07
I Worked for Siemens as a Contract Manager on a contract basis dealing with the Project Management,
Contractual Claims under FIDIC and Commercial Issues. This major Gas Turbine Power Generation EPC
project had experienced major delays and cost overrun.

I was employed by Baulderstone Hornibrook as Project Manger for the two Approach Bridge Structures a key
part of the main bridge project. I was initially based in Ho Chi Minh while planning the works and placing
orders and contracts with the local companies. I then relocated to the bridge site accommodation and set up
the pile and Super-tee beam pre-casting yards. The Approaches team consisted of expat senior management
working with a local management team using the local Vietnamese CIENCO Group of Contractors to carry out
the works. I was responsible for all aspects of the construction of the two Approach Structures including staff
recruitment, contracts, budget preparation and control, cost reporting, value engineering, quality and

I was contracted to Daewoo Corp as a Senior PM on the construction of four multi -storey office towers and a
9 storey Retail complex with basement car parking in central KL. I reported to the Project Director and was
responsible for a key group of Specialist Contractors including the Heavy Civil Works Contractors and Main
Office Structure contractors and their overall interface with the Korean Team. I also identified and introduced
the technology for the floor to floor construction method and the core climbing formwork systems.

I joined respected UK Contractor Mowlem as a Sub-Agent on a new-build steel framed Factory Unit Project
near Glasgow. I quickly progressed through the management structure to Site Agent and then to Project
Manager. My key projects were;

Administrator on the Lyell McEwin Hospital Project in Elizabeth, South Australia. I reported to the project

contracts. I administered the monthly progress claims, change orders and variations and reported to the
Steering Committee of the Hospital.
After the Lyell McEwin was successfully completed I was promoted to Site Manager for the construction of a
speculative office building in Modbury SA and the Lyell McEwin Hospital in Elizabeth - South Australia.
Tarmac International – Algeria, North Africa Site Supervisor 1987 to 1988
I was keen to gain overseas experience and joined Baxter Fell International (Tarmac Group) building army
bases and installations throughout Algeria. I worked as a Site Supervisor and gained experience in
international procurement and shipping of major plant and equipment; supervision and site engineering on
projects throughout the country - Oran, Tlemcen, Bechar, Constantine and Algiers.

I attended Glasgow College of Building from 1979 to 1982 and gained my Higher National Diploma in
Building. I joined my first Construction company as a trainee Planning Engineer following their in house
training programme. I gained promotion to Planning Engineer and gained experience on a number of projects
based on site:
