CSTE Exam
QAI conducts CSTE exam every quarter in
a year -Mar/Jun/Sep/Dec

Last date for registration freezes 60 days
prior to the exam date

Exam fees : $ 350
            CSTE Exam
               To become certified as a CSTE,
                every candidate must:
               1. Satisfy all applicant
                Prerequisites.
               2. Subscribe to the Code of Ethics.
               3. Submit a Character Reference.
               4. Pass a comprehensive written
                Examination.

Prerequisites..…
To qualify for candidacy, each applicant
   must meet one of three prerequisites:
1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited
   college-level institution,
2. An associate degree and two years of
   experience in the information services
   field, or
3. Six years of experience in the
   information services field.
            How does one register
            for CSTE exam?
               Application form to be downloaded from
                the site, filled and duly signed
               Character reference to be manually filled
                by Employee’s Manager
               Payment details( Credit card number) to
                be entered in the application

Exam Pattern….
The exam comprises of 4 papers.
10-15 min breaks in b/w each paper.
Paper 1 : Objective ( 45-50 questions)
Paper 2 : Subjective ( 8-10 questions)
Paper 3 : Objective (45-50 questions)
Paper 4 : Subjective (8-10 questions)
Exam Pattern…
Objectives – Multiple choices (a,b,c,d,e).
Right answer should be darkened with a
HB#2 pencil
Subjectives - Answer sheet will have blank
spaces in b/w each Q. We need to fit our
answers in the space provided ONLY and
no extra sheet will be given. (Use
bullets/diagrams )
            Pass Criteria
               Must secure 75% in each of the
                four papers
                 Paper 1-Objective - 75%
                 Paper 2-Subjective -75%

                 Paper 3-Objective -75%

                 Paper 4-Subjective-75%

                Note that you must pass all the four
                  papers to attain this certification

CSTE Study Group
   A Study group ‘CSTE study group’ has been
    formed in IBM for the candidates who are
    taking the CSTE Certification
   The Study Group primarily aims at mentoring
    and helping the candidates achieve the
    certification successfully.
   Invite SME’s (subject matter experts)
   Arrange sessions by SME’s on the twelve
    Key domains.
   Discuss more case studies in group
   Conduct Mock Exams
   Knowledge Sharing/Tips from few of our
    fellow CSTE Certified candidates.
Few more tips….
   Take a mock exam to get a feel of
    sitting for an exam for full 4 hrs and
    writing long answers using a pencil.
   Use the articles in the Teamroom and
    put enduring articles of interest
   Brain Dumps of the exam will be an
    excellent plus.
   Take the week leading up to the exam
    purely for revision
