TITLE OF PLAN B: Physiologic Responses in Persons with Dementia



PROJECT ABSTRACT: This research aimed to provide valid physiologic data including
heart rate, body temperature, and galvanic skin response in adults with dementia. This
study was motivated by the lack of objective data for measuring the emotional and
physiologic responses for persons with dementia during conversational based therapy
activities. The potential benefit of this research is the opportunity to improve the quality
of life for all persons with dementia by providing a systematic method in which to gauge
their physiologic and emotional responses regardless of their ability to communicate
verbally.
