CREDENTIAL APPLICATION PROCESS
Mandatory electronic submission is required by the
California Commission
on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
Electronic recommendations will not begin until
grades are posted – approximately mid-June 2012
CREDENTIAL APPLICATION PROCESS
1st step
Complete and submit the credential application to the Education
Services Center (ESC) and recommendation fee to the Cashier’s
Office by the priority deadline date.
2nd step
Your file is reviewed to make sure all requirements have been met.
After final grades are posted in mid-June, and we verify that you
have successfully completed all requirements and course work, a
Credential Analyst in ESC recommends you for a credential via the
CTC secure website.
We anticipate the recommendation process will be complete by end
of June for those students who have met all requirements and
submitted applications by the priority deadline date.
All other applications will be processed on a date-order basis.
CREDENTIAL APPLICATION PROCESS
(continued 2)
3rd step
CTC will email you a notification of recommendation for
your credential. This notification will provide a link that
instructs you to complete your credential application
process.
You will also pay a credential document fee. Payment by
MasterCard, VISA, debit/credit card, or a one-time credit
card (available at most grocery stores) is the only option for
payment of the on-line recommendation.
The current fee is $57.00 or $29.50 with credit for a
Certificate of Clearance. (CTC fees are subject to change
without notice).
CREDENTIAL APPLICATION PROCESS
(continued 3)
3rd step - continued
CTC notifies the student that all fees have been paid
and student will be issued a credential. The
initial email may not list all authorizations
for your credential.
CTC issues notification of credential issuance via
email. This email serves as the verification (C-19)
letter.
CREDENTIAL APPLICATION PROCESS
(continued final)
4th step
Credential is issued by CTC on-line ONLY
You may verify issuance of your credential at:
https://teachercred.ctc.ca.gov/teachers/index.jsp
or and click on “Search for a Teacher’s Application
Status and Credentials Held” located in a gray box
on the left side of the screen.
NOTE: A new CTC on-line recommendation system is
currently under development. The link and
instructions above may change once the new system
is activated.
