INTERCOMPARISON OF DIFFERENT MODELS FOR ESTIMATION OF THE BITOLA POWER PLANT AIR QUALITY IMPACT L. KANEVCE*, G. KANEVCE, A. MARKOSKI, G. TROMBEV Faculty of Technical Sciences, "St. Kliment Ohridski" University, Bitola, FYROM Abstract. In this paper the results of the model intercomparison in the air quality impact analysis of the Bitola Thermal Power Plant are presented. The application of 3 atmospheric dispersion models, ADMS3, OML and ISCST3 has been analysed. The ISCST3 model has been run with meteorological input data generated by the MADAM Meteorological Preprocessor. The main characteristics of the available data are the high percentage of wind speeds below 1 m/s and the lack of mixing height measurements. The performances of the models have been tested against the ground level measurements of the daily mean SO concentrations obtained at 4 locations around the point of release. The three model results and the measurements at the presented locations for 365 days in 1998 arc compared. Keywords: atmospheric dispersion, MADAM_MP, OML, ADMS3, ISCST3, the Bitola Thermal Power Plant, S02 pollution.
