Installation of OTN’s SSL VPN secure remote access software
(a.k.a Cisco AnyConnect VPN)
Please note that as a general rule you’ll want to click “Install”, “Accept”, “OK”, “Yes” etc. when
prompted to do so during the following installation.

Step 1
Open Internet Explorer and key in the URL https://vpn-access.otn.ca
A certificate warning may be displayed. Accept it to continue with the installation:

Click on the warning message displayed in the yellow background at the top of the screen to
accept and continue with installation of the add-on software “Cisco Secure Desktop”




Step 3
Click on “Install”

Click on “Continue”

The OTN Store Forward Access screen will be displayed. Please read the content carefully then
Click on “Start AnyConnect”




Step 6
If prompted install Active X for installation:

Click “Yes” to the security warning alert (2 windows):

Allow a few minutes for the software to complete the configuration

Click “Download” for using Java for Installation

You will see the following confirmation screen indicating that you are able to connect:

Once the configuration is successfully connected, The AnyConnect client is normally minimized
into the bottom right corner of your screen and looks like two computer screens one on top of
the other. You can always right click on it to open the AnyConnect or to disconnect the active
VPN connection.




Step 10
        Select the group: “OTN_Store-Forward_Access”
        In the Username field, enter “telehealth\username” Do not use the quote marks. You
         must include “telehealth\” before the username. Replace “username” with the OTN
         provided username. The entry should look similar to this: telehealth\sstein
        In the password field enter the OTN provided password
        Click “Connect”

You will see the following confirmation screen. Click “Accept”

At the end of the session when you have finished using Store Forward, right click on the icon
which displays two computer screens with a lock and select “Disconnect” to disconnect from
OTN’s network.

To re-launch SSL-VPN access to OTN’s network select from Microsoft Windows StartAll
Programs  Cisco  Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client  Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client.

Connecting to and downloading the plug-in for
Otn.teledermSF (OTN’s Store Forward Dermatology
Application)

Step 1
Launch the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client and login using the OTN provided Username and
Password. Open a new browser window and type “sf.otn.ca” in the URL address bar of the
browser.




Step 2
If you are successfully connected to OTN through the Cisco AnyConnect VPN you will see the
Otn.teledermSF page as shown below. If you do not see this page, go back and launch the Cicso
AnyConnect VPN and login there first.

Click on the ‘View Patients’ button found in the menu on the left side of the screen.

This will display the Patient’s View Page in the main window. Click on ‘Get Latest Viewer’
button from the bottom right corner of the main window (see below).

Click on ‘Download plug-in 41034.exe’ beside the Medweb Telemedicine Viewer

Click on “Run”




This will initiate the installation process.

Read the Terms of License Agreement, select “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and
click “Next”

This will begin the Installation process.

Camera Selection Criteria

OTN recommends the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX5. This camera is easy to use, takes reasonable
photos even in low light conditions and has an excellent close-up mode (macro mode). A
photography kit complete with camera, carry case, spare battery and disposable rulers can be
obtained from OTN. Please contact your Regional Manager for further information.




Users who are familiar with photography may choose to use an SLR or other point-and-shoot
type camera. Any digital camera may be used as long as it takes sharp images and has
a rating of at least 8 megapixels.

Please complete the OTN Store Forward Photography Course available at www.otn.ca for
detailed learning about feature settings, lighting and positioning for dermatology photography.

                                      Appendix A
PC System Requirements
Store Forward dermatology telemedicine is a convenient way to practice asynchronous
consultation. Practitioners use their own computer system and must meet the following
computer and network requirements to participate.


PC Hardware Requirements: (Note: Otn.teledermSF is not yet supported on the Mac
environment)
                Processor - Pentium 4 or better.
                Hard disk space – minimum 100MB
                RAM – minimum 512MB of RAM.
                Monitor - Minimum 1024x768 Resolution Monitor at 32 bit color depth.
                Free USB port – preferred USB Ver2 (Required for referring physicians only).


PC Software requirements:
                Windows Operating System – Windows XP or Windows 7.
                Browser - Internet Explorer version 6 or higher
                The browser must have Java/JavaScript enabled.


Internet connectivity:
             Internet connectivity with at least 256 kbps upload bandwidth.
             Appropriate ports opened on the firewall (if one is used by your organization) to:
              o Download VPN access software from OTN’s FTP server
              o Allow VPN access to OTN’s IP network
Allow secure http (https://) access to Store Forward application server
