e-mailed to members and is also available on the Athletic Booster Club website. The Booster Club’s

Meet the Coaches Night
This event is set for Saturday, August 22nd at 7:00 p.m. in the BL Atrium. Meet the Coaches Night is a
chance for the parents to meet all the coaches of the sport in which your child participates. This is an
ADULT ONLY event with dinner and adult beverages being served. Please join us for a fun time – as
you meet and mingle with the coaches and other parents in a very laid-back, casual atmosphere. We
need volunteers to help set-up, clean-up, etc. so if you are interested in helping out, please contact
Angie Garza, Hospitality Chair at firstname.lastname@example.org or Kelly Vrla at email@example.com. Thanks to one
of our members who has graciously donated the wine and also to several other members who have
offered to help out with the donation of the beer.
Media Guide – The Media Guide ads have gone really well – we had about $6,000 as of last week. The
Media Guide will highlight each sport that BL offers and will highlight graduates who are playing a

college sport or playing in national leagues. The Media Guide will be ready by our first home football
game on September 4th. The Committee is taking over the selling of The Guide and will be available at
each sporting event for purchase. Any questions regarding the Media Guide can be addressed to Sharon
Plugge at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Membership – The Booster Club Passes are available for purchase by downloading the form from the BL
website and also at various BL functions over the next few weeks. If you are interested in helping to
man a table at any of these functions, please contact one of the Membership Chairs. Any questions
regarding membership can be directed to our Membership Chairs, Byron McCormick at
Byronandkaren@netzero.com or Jim Nevitt ’85 at email@example.com.
Golf – Annual Golf Tournament to be held on Monday, October 12th at Sherrill Park. An incentive to
acquire Event Sponsorships is going out to all the teams at BL – the team that sells the most
sponsorship money will receive $1,000.00 for their team. We would really like to have 144 golfers so we
can use both courses. We are looking for golfers, sponsorships, raffle/auction items and volunteers. If
you are interested in volunteering either the day of the Golf Tournament or in the planning of the event,
please contact Donna McConnell, Golf Chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Scholarship – We need 3 members to assist on the Scholarship Committee - this Committee meets about
3 times at the end of the school year, during the day while kids are in school. The nominees meet with
the committee and are interviewed for the award. If you are interested in helping out please contact our
Scholarship Chair, Lynn Benedetto ’75 at email@example.com.
Facilities – working with the architect and getting a renewal of quotes for the softball lighting. The
drainage project for the baseball field is pending – we will have an update on both of these projects at
the next meeting.
BL vs. Jesuit Game
The BL/Jesuit Game will be held on Saturday, August 29th at 1:30 p.m. at Pizza Hut Park on Frisco. The
Booster Club will have two areas for the BL Community to socialize in:
1) Stadium Club – this is an ADULT ONLY area for the price of $50/Ticket – each ticket includes a social
prior to and during the game, your $10 game ticket, fajita buffet with cash bar access in an air-
conditioned environment overlooking the field on the 50-yard line. Access to additional covered seating,
outside on this same Suite-level’s South Deck, will also be available.
2) Hospitality Terrace - $25/Ticket – each ticket includes a social prior to and during the game, your $10
game ticket and non-alcoholic refreshments, near stadium concessions, in an outside covered
environment with a corner view of the game.
Reservation information will be sent to all Booster Club Members and can also be found on the Bishop
Lynch website. If you should have any questions, please contact Kelly Vrla at firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets are
limited and are on a first-come first-serve basis. No tickets will be sold at the door so please make your
reservation before the deadline of Wednesday, August 19th.
There is a possibility that there will be a tail-gate party for the Bishop Lynch & Jesuit Students – as more
information becomes available we will let you know.
Field Turf/Track Project
Field Turf Chair, Greg Hoes ’81, spoke to the Booster Club members regarding the turf & track project.
We have a major soil issue that will have to be addressed when the field is built and there will be
additional costs to treat this issue, but once treated the field will be high quality and will last for a very
long time. We have expansive clay which requires the treatment of inserting lime and water into the soil
in order for this project to get started. The committee is continuing to see donors and several people
have made commitments but will need to be contacted again. The Bishop Lynch Band has made a 3-
year commitment to this project by donating $10,000.00. If you know of anyone that is interested in

donating or if you should have any questions regarding this issue please contact Ben Dasch ’95 or
Pete Lampo ‘72, as they are on the Field Turf Committee.
Football – football practice started Monday, August 3rd for all players – there were 55 freshman in
Volleyball – Volleyball practice started Monday, August 3rd for all players
The School Board budgeted enrollment to have 1035 students this fall and right now we have 1075 – we
are aiming for 1100 students this year. Transfer students coming in are very athletic – they want to
attend BL because of our phenomenal athletic program.
BL won the TAPPS all-around trophy again last year for the 10th year in a row. We are such a well
rounded school because of academics, athletics, fine-arts program, etc.
Please keep the Weibring family in your prayers – Ali Weibring ’06 was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s and
has already started her treatment.
Thanks to all of you who attended this meeting. We encourage everyone to continue to attend all the
meetings that you possibly can. If you have any questions, ideas, suggestions or comments please
contact one of the members of the Board or e-mail the Athletic Booster Club (see below). If your team
needs facility upgrades, equipment, etc. please submit a proposal, with a list of enhancements needed
and various bids, to the Booster Club so it can be included in the Agenda for next month.
Coaches and Parents: In order for your team to receive money from the Athletic Booster Club, the
parents are asked to attend Booster Club meetings on a regular basis and participate in Booster Club
