2. Reiterate the importance of following up with Pediatrician
3. Discuss labs drawn from baby on day of discharge, bili and newborn screening
4. Discuss washing of hands before handling baby, no kissing baby on face
5. Ask how they plan to get home, discuss the importance of car seats, make sure cab
driver provides a car seat for them
6. Designated area at home for baby. Baby should not sleep with parents in bed
7. Care of umbilical cord
8. Care of circumcision (if applicable)
9. Have 5-6 baby sized blankets
10. Teach how to swaddle babies
11. Keep one or two formula bottles if in case of emergency mother cannot breast feed
12. Do not give pacifier
13. Back to sleep
14. No blankets, stuffed animals on bed, keep clear of clutter
