Maj. Keith E Owens
                                      Maj Owens is a native of Michigan. He attended
                                      Michigan Tech University in Northern Michigan
                                      where he participated in various winter intramural
                                      sports with a fraternal affiliation. He earned a
                                      bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in
                                      1992 and attended OCS that summer.
                                      Maj Owens has commanded at the platoon and
                                      company level and provided the leadership and
                                      guidance for a deploying reserve company, preparing
                                      them for deployment to Iraq.
                                      Upon joining 1st CEB he was the S-3 and later
                                      deployed as an individual augment the Joint staff of
                                      the Combined Joint Task Force 76 in Bagram
                                      Afghanistan in January of 2005. Serving as the
                                      senior watch officer his duties included coordination
of fire support, med-evac and constant monitoring of the battlefield on a primarily Army
Division staff.
Upon returning from Afghanistan Maj Owens was the Battalion S-3 and XO
simultaneously. He deployed again in June of 2006 to Iraq to serve on the I MEF G-8
staff (Engineering). His responsibilities included all engineer operations in GS of the
MAGTF, Route Clearance (RC) scheduling, RC mission status tracking and equipment
status and sourcing from MNC-I and commercial manufacturers.
His personal decorations include the Navy Achievement Medal, Navy comm, Meritorious
Service Medal (MSM) and the Defense MSM.
