FROM OUR PRESIDENT..
By Dean Worthington, RLCA President
Inside This Issue:
Spring Greetings! I hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather while it lasts. The mulch sale is
From Our President complete and soon we can have some back-breaking fun spreading it on our flower beds and
Treasurer’s Report landscaping. Thanks to everyone who participated in the sale this year, the small profit will go
towards maintaining our entrances and paying the bills.
Neighborhood Committee Effective April 18th, the City of Hilliard will cancel its residential chipper service and Local Waste
Services will be picking up the slack by collecting the yard waste on Tuesdays. They want the
Drawing Winner limbs/branches in 4' length X 2' diameter bundles, which weigh no more than 75 lbs. They ask that
Civic Report the bundles be tied with biodegradable twine and not with wire. The flyer that was sent didn't specify
the maximum diameter of the limbs, but if you have any questions you may call them at 614-409-
Communications Report 9375.
As the weather gets warmer, the annual reminder to watch-out for our little ones playing is in order.
Please obey the 25 mph speed limit, especially on the major throughways in the development (River
Your RLCA Landings, Coolbrook, Dayspring). And slow down when you see children playing near the street.
Volunteers: Any parent can testify to the fact that children's movements can be quick and unpredictable!
President Congratulations to the residents of Mossrock Drive, Davidson Rd. and Shinestone Way! This year,
Dean Worthington like past years, those members have been the first to have 100% participation in dues collection.
The residents of those streets can take satisfaction in your dedication to our community and its
Secretary purpose. On behalf of the board and all of the paying members: Thank you!
Have a great Spring and enjoy the warm weather!

The Spring Thing
Spring’s finally here! Did you know in River Landings…
Boats, RVs and trailers can be parked outside your home for only up to 72-hours in a 30-day period. Otherwise, they
must be at a storage facility.
Wood and stone are the only fence-types allowed.
City ordinances are so restrictive, that for all practical purposes, PODS are prohibited.
Please review all your responsibilities and rights by checking the covenants at www.RiverLandings.org.
Warmer weather brings our kids out of the house. Hilliard Police advise us that motorized kid scooters are illegal to ride on a
street or sidewalk.
Dogs, Cats and People Living Together
Loose pets are a concern again. Hilliard City ordinances don’t allow for dogs, cats or other domestic animals to run at-large.
Rabies and County Auditor tags are required annually. Habitual barking and meowing are outlawed as nuisances. Please
pick up your pet’s feces wherever it may be left.
For the safety and security of our neighborhood, if a streetlight is out, please call the city at 876-7361 ext. 742.
Nail The Mailbox
Needing repair or replacement? Call Cedarcraft at 759-1600. They have the River Landings’ specs on file and are very
responsive. Please note that the uniform color for all mailboxes in the development is called Beachwood. It is a solid body
stain with a deep base. According to Creative Paint, the formula is AX-10, B-16, C-16, L-2, Y-20 per galloon. Mailboxes are
to match each other, not the house.
Communication’s Report By Diana Dockman
What is the process for the dues collection in order for the entrances to be maintained and the utility bills to be paid?
1. In January, our Treasurer, Ed Hammond, updates the dues letter with the payment history for each home and mails
the letters to 401 River Landings residents.
2. A drawing is done for the January and February gift certificate winners.
3. In March, the remaining homes that have not remitted the $50 dues payment are again mailed another request for
4. In late April through October, the RLCA board members go door-to-door to collect the dues from the remaining
As you can see, it is a tremendous amount of volunteer time and effort to collect the dues from each household. The RLCA
board has made great efforts to keep our costs as low as possible to keep the dues at $50 per household. It is each River
Landings resident’s responsibility to pay their dues. If you are experiencing financial hardship or have lost a job, please let us
know. It is not “optional” to help maintain the River Landings entrances. Every River Landings resident has benefited from
the beautiful entrances we have in River Landings. Whether you have your house on the market right now or plan to in the
future, your home is appreciating. New residents have told us that it is the esthetics of the neighborhood, the natural exteriors
and the entrances that have drawn them to River Landings over others. Remember we are the only development in the area
with three entrances into our development which is more expensive, but also is more convenient. If you have not paid your
$50 dues, please remit your payment to: RLCA P.O. BOX 673 HILLIARD, OHIO 43026. If you have a question about the
dues payment, please e-mail us at email@example.com Thank you in advance for submitting your payment. Also, if you
would like to volunteer on the Dues Collection Committee, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
DONATE THOSE OLD ITEMS AND GET A RECEIPT FOR YOUR TAXES
If you are remodeling your home or just updating your home with new cabinets and appliances, your old items can be donated
to either HABITAT FOR HUMANITY (414-0427 or www.habitat-columbus.org) or MATERIAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDERS,
INC.(853-9355 or www.mapfurniturebank.org ). They will pick up any donations. So, recycle those old items and help people
that are less fortunate at the same time.
The welcome packets are now being distributed to all homeowners that are moving into River Landings. Please continue to
notify us of new residents so that we can distribute the welcome packets in a timely manner by e-mailing us at
